When Margot Robbie makes her return to the big screen as Harley Quinn, she will have a dynamic female creative team behind her. Harley's next outing will be in a movie adaptation of Birds of Prey that will be written by Christina Hodson and directed by Cathy Yan.
Hodson recently got the opportunity to talk about the project while at San Diego Comic-Con. When asked what it meant for Harley to have a female writer, Hodson had a very simple response, "everything." She went on to elaborate, "Harley is such a complicated character, she was created by a man and I think he did an amazing job with her, but she is flawed, complicated, has so many different angles.”
As of right now, story details are being kept under wraps. However, Hodson says she is out to prove that Harley is more than just The Joker's plus one, and that she is excited to see Harley as her own person. Birds of Prey does not have a release date at this moment.
