Sony Pictures has released a new IMAX poster for the upcoming
Bloodshot movie, which was developed as the first of several Valiant Comics adaptations.
The first couple of teasers withheld the main characters "final form," but the most recent trailer gave us a glimpse of him in action, and here we finally get a proper look at Vin Diesel's Ray Garrison sporting the red eyes and blue-tinged skin of his comic book counterpart.
The R-rated project was set-up as the first film in a five-picture deal between Beverly Hills/Beijing-based DMG and Valiant Entertainment, with
Harbinger expected to follow at some point if
Bloodshot is a success. Neal Moritz will produce, while Blur Studios' Dave Wilson is on board as director.
Joining Diesel in the lead role will be Eiza Gonzalez (
Baby Driver, Alita: Battle Angel), Michael Sheen (
Underworld, Tron: Legacy), Sam Heughan (
Outlander, The Spy Who Dumped Me), and Guy Pearce (
The Proposition, Iron Man 3).
After he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally thought.
