COMICS: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 and SEX CRIMINALS Top April Sales Chart

The promise of Peter Parker's return proved to be a huge success for Marvel, with their all-new Amazing Spider-Man #1 rocketing to the top of the comic book sales charts, along with Sex Criminals, Batman Eternal, The Walking Dead and Superior Spider-Man.

April proved to be an impressive month for comic book sales in comparison to recent months. Dan Slott's big Superior Spider-Man finale launched into a new Amazing Spider-Man, both of which sit atop the 'Comic Book' sales chart. All four issues of DC's new weekly series Batman Eternal also landed in the top 10, as well as the latest issue of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's flagship Batman title. The Walking Dead also proves that it's still a strong seller, with spots on the 'Top 50 Comic Books' and 'Graphic Novels' lists. Speaking of which, the first volume of Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky's Sex Criminals managed to grab the top spot, followed by fellow Image series Saga and East of West. Other solid performers include All-New X-MenJustice League and Guardians of the Galaxy.

While I like the idea of All-New Marvel NOW!, I don't like that just about every Marvel title costs $4 an issue. It becomes expensive over time, especially when there are some books that could easily come down to $3.

@GoldenOne33

Only this week. Batman is consistently the top of the charts. Batman by Scott Snyder is almost always number #1.

@SniktBub
Trust me, buying comics even while employed still makes Marvel's 4 dollars too expensive.

Like to see these charts. Looks to be same old for the most part though. Still in bewilderment why Harley Queen is so up there.

Waiting to see the total chart and see Flash drop rrreeeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyyyyyyy low.

Crazy what ASM sold this month.

Batman is usually the highest selling title selling at about 120,000 copies. ASM #1 sold about 5-600,000 copies from what I'm hearing. That's [frick]ing insane.

That's like six times the amount the highest normally sells.

Evert person who ever read a comic in their life and their grandma must have picked up 30 copies.

Insanity. Gotta be some kind of record.

i love how many retards called Batman is overrated but the fact is DC is NOTHING without Batman
SugarYumYum

No surprise, was hearing reports that preorder numbers were around 500k. ASM #1 isn't just the best selling comic of this decade but this century.

Lot of the normal Marvel Top Sellers fell in position but considering all the Batman related titles in there which normally do close to 100K, the actual sale numbers are likely pretty normal.

Surprised yet not surprised by Harley Quinn's position. Gurl has a solid fanbase, just imagine her sales if her comic was actually good. Nightcrawler seems to have a solid debut but Magneto seems to have dropped pretty sharply.

I'm really curious to see the physical numbers for Inhuman. It's still in the top digital sellers so there seems to be quite a bit of interest in the title.
