In a comic book market that's often derided for a lack of innovation, Image Comics is carving out a sizable chunk of the landscape thanks to fresh and invigorating concepts; something many fans bemoan is in short supply at industry stalwarts Marvel and DC Comics. Most notably, Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead and Brian K. Vaughan's Saga are achieving the rare feat of making a splash on both the sales chart and among critic and fan opinion. Debuting this Wednesday, Casey is looking to be the next big thing from Image with Sex #1. Copies were available at Emerald City ComicCon this past weekend and they're already going for nearly $100 on eBay.
"It's going to be a wild ride of psycho-sexual exploration and intimate confrontations. It's a whole new way to look at the genre. We're taking the fight scenes out of superhero comic books and replacing them with another kind of action scene."
Sex Exclusive Preview by USA TODAY Comics
The series hit U.S. comic books stores this Wednesday. If you're lucky enough to grab a copy of a 1st Print you might want to hold on to it. Such copies for Kirkman's The Walking Dead are worth quite a pretty penny these days.
