Any Hellboy fans out there or is it just me? Anyway, at the Dark Horse panel at C2E2, Hellboy fans will be happy to know that Mike Mignola is working on more Hellboy related projects outside of the current Hellboy series
Hellboy In Hell. Mike Mignola announced a new Hellboy graphic novel called
Hellboy: The Midnight Circus. For this project, Mignola is reuniting with frequent collaborator Duncan Fegredo.
Hellboy: The Midnight Circus will flash back to Hellboy's childhood and also explore his first encounter with Hell when he runs away from home and discovers a circus full of demonic performers. The book is said to be 56-pages and a hardcover book which will follow the similar format 2011's
Hellboy: House of the Living Dead. When talking about the book, Mike Mignola said this:
“This one owes a lot to Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes (pretty much my favorite circus story of all time), but even more to Pinocchio—especially all the spooky, disturbing bits Disney left out. And the work Duncan is doing here is just flat-out amazing.”
When Duncan Fegredo was asked about
Hellboy: The Midnight Circus, he said the following:
"Growing up is tough enough, even when you don’t know the weight of the world rests on the future of your yet-diminutive shoulders. Mike has woven a tale of coming of age for the young Hellboy made all the more poignant for knowing his future. Wonderful, magical, terrifying, this is epic Hellboy on a smaller stage.”
Hellboy: the Midnight Circus will release on October 23 at the cover price of $14.99. Are you interested in the book? Comment about your thoughts below. Peace.
