Can you identify any of the heroes above? I've got my own ideas as to who a few of these individuals COULD be. Plus, here's the official solicits for Aquaman #7 and #8 which reveals that the Justice League wasn't the first superhero group he was apart of.

Who destroyed Atlantis? In the start of a new storyline, we follow the hunter as he stalks and kills his prey, claiming their weapons and armor as trophies. A golden shield, a golden helm…and the final prize is the most powerful of all: a golden trident. The only problem is, he’s going to have to go through Aquaman to get it. Who is he? What is the secret of Aquaman’s trident? And how does this all tie into the destruction of Atlantis?

As a deadly hunter continues his murderous quest for the Atlantean trident, an unknown chapter of Aquaman’s life is revealed! Before he was a part of the Justice League, Aquaman was Arthur, the man from Atlantis, and leader of a mysterious team of adventurers. Armed with weapons forged in Aquaman’s past, these men and women were on their way to becoming the most powerful people on Earth – until it all came crashing down.

Aquaman is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the character debuted in More Fun Comics #73 (Sep. 1941). Initially a backup feature in DC's anthology titles, Aquaman later starred in several volumes of a solo title. During the late 1950s and 1960s superhero-revival period known as the Silver Age, he was a founding member of the Justice League of America. In the 1990s Modern Age, Aquaman's character became more serious than in most previous interpretations, with storylines depicting the weight of his role as king of Atlantis.

Looks great. This is easily one of DC's best titles right now. I probably think Johns does a better job at Aquaman than Green Lantern.

@ GraphicCity my first thought! After reading 52 a few weeks back, I've been hoping he'd show up in the new 52. Guess I just found a reason to start reading DC, farewell Marvel, good luck suing your creators for the last pennies they have.

Mr. Miracle in the far back and Dr. Midnite to the right there, perhaps? New designs, obviously. I'm just guessing.

Nice cover!
Let me guess.
From left to right: Vixen, The flying guy: Adam Strange/Ocean Master?, Under the flying guy: Atlantis priest/Shadow Storm?, Black Manta, Aquaman and Dr. Imposible?.

I was curious about that six golden items (necklace, helmet, mask?, handcuff, trident and key?). Atlantis artefact?

Would rather Johns announced his retirement from DC. This? Meh. If that's actually Adam. Well, DC keeps [frick]ing up and coming up with shitty designs... Good grief...

@rbfn04 Come on dude you know that is not Adam Strange he has nothing to do with Atlantis. That character looks more like the Guardian to me. And Johns saved the Green Lantern comic making it one of DC's #1 top sellers. And he has made The Flash and Aquaman interesting again.
