If you love Neil Gaiman's Sandman, your bookshelf is about to get a lot more handsome. Vertigo is commemorating the series' 25th Anniversary by collecting it into two silver deluxe hardcover volumes. Not only that, a page will personally be signed by Neil Gaiman himself. It can be yours for the price of $499.95. Just tell your wife you paid $20. It will be our little secret.

If that's not enough, Gaiman has returned to writing the character. The Sandman Overture #1 is available now, with issue 2 coming in February. You can check out my review of issue 1 here.

That is really nice. If I was made of money I would get that.

I think what can only be better then that is if WB green lights Sandman for HBO. That would be one incredible TV show.

My girlfriend sent me a picture of this the other day; apparently she considered getting me this for Christmas before she saw the ridiculously steep price.

@BlackIceJoe I was thinking about how great an HBO series with Benedict Cumberbatch as Morpheus would be just last night. We can only dream. Heh.

Shame I already started on my Absolute collection (already have the first 3 volumes). At £75 a pop, it will end up being more expensive.... Not sure if this is oversized though, or if Absolute Death is included in the 2 volumes.
