COMICS: The Flash Takes On The All-New Rogues This August

The Flash has been one of the best books to come out of "The New 52" relaunch and quite honestly THE best looking comic book available to buy anywhere. This August, creative team Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato will pit The Fastest Man alive against a new team of Rogues and it looks as if this may just be more than Barry Allen can handle! It doesn't sound as if #12 features the team all that much, but just take a look at that stunning cover...

• Setting up THE ROGUES as a team as the next major storyline for the series begins!
• GLIDER takes center stage!

THE FLASH #12
Written by FRANCIS MANAPUL and BRIAN BUCCELLATO
Art and cover by FRANCIS MANAPUL

• The Rogues – victorious? If THE FLASH had trouble with them individually, together they’ll kill him!
• Something worse than The Rogues is just waiting for the right moment to attack...

THE FLASH ANNUAL #1
Written by FRANCIS MANAPUL and BRIAN BUCCELLATO
Art by FRANCIS MANAPUL, MARCUS TO, etc.

Who is the fiery guy? I feel like I should know... but can't think of it, otherwise I really like the Golden Glider's new look, as well as Captain Cold, Mirror Master and Weather Wizard. Looks like Turbine joins them too. Love the artwork.

The art is indeed stupendous, but not a big fan of the writing. Well, I never actually made it past issue 3 so maybe it's improved!

it frustrates me when people say things like "DC should make a Flash movie" or "DC Should make more then just Batman and Superman movies." DC does not own the movie rights to ANY of their Characters, the company was bought a long time ago by WB, when you see a poorly done movie of a DC character it had nothing to do with DC it was the WB's fault, if you like what you see in a movie of a DC character it had nothing to do with DC, WB somehow got it right. WB are control freaks, even when they say "we will give DC more power over their characters." you find them going back on that later. What WB needs to do is how Disney is now allowing Marvel to do their own thing.

One of the very few DC characters I like. The art is pretty good.
The Flash does need an upgrade with his villains, cause the majority of them have been pretty lame.

Side note with everyone, I agree. WB needs to either get their shit straight or let DC do their own due with making their own flicks. A Flash movie has been long overdue.

@SupermanP33v3 whilst I would agree with you on the most part DC had a huge [frick]ing hand in GL and boy was that [frick]ing pile of shit. It had Geoff Johns involved, ALOT yet it was still shit.

So they need to gain some independence or WB need to give them some freedom until then I am afraid there just going to stick with there biggest cash cow Batman, which there going to hold on to even more dearly until they find a replacement for Potter

And The book is definitely one of the best looking out there how ever the writing is average at best

Plus I guess the whole Flashpoint(horrible flash centric story to adapt) should give some indication that theres certainly some interest in the character but it still amazes me that GL can get a movie before Flash and especially Wonder Woman.

@Hellsing See, I had alot of hope for the GL movie because WB had said they were restructuring and giving DC more power. However, as time when on WB took more and more power away. For example, the final battle with Paralax was suppose to have Kilowog, Sinestro, and Tomar-re all fighting together on Earth but WB didn't like that. Their were several things that WB didn't want. They didn't want to spend to much time in space. It was because of Green Lantern (Which I actually really liked even though most people didn't) that I added "even when they say 'we will give DC more power over their characters.' you find them going back on that later." They said they were going to give DC more power but they still felt they had to get involved.

@marknjoanna, something else that urks me is when people refuse to see the historical significance that DC has. WB and DC were together before Marvel was even created. DC's dealings with WB were pioneering. it was a big deal for the comic book company and wouldn't have been turned down by Marvel if they were offered it at that time. Marvel was able to then look at what DC did and learn from it, something DC did not have the ability to do since they were busy being the pioneer and making the comic book industry what it is today. It is fine by me if someone likes Marvel over DC or any other comic book company over DC, but please, don't disrespect the pioneering that was done by the company who you owe your respect too or we wouldn't have the awesome Avengers movie that we currently do.

@marknjoanna First off i'm so tired of people calling other people fanboys like dc fanboys or nolan fanboys or what have you because it's just stupid we're on a damn comic book movie website we're all fanboys Second when dc was first looking for a studio wb promised to give them creative control with the products they made but still took a hand if everything they did but whose gonna mess with the person paying for the movie to be made in the first place answer is no one so get your facts straight before you speak or not click on a Flash article then proceed to call people dc fanboys cuz that makes so much sense.

@marknjoanna: it wasn't a deal, it was a purchase. When one company purcheses another it is kinda a forever thing man, Marvel then learned from that and leased the rights to their characters to different places. Marvel didn't do it perfectly either. Which is why it will be a very long time before you see a Marvel Entertainment Movie staring Spider-man, or X-Men. At least all of DC's Characters are in one house. And Marvel Comics #1 was the title of Timely Comics periodical, not when Marvel started.... and one more thing. I would also just like to point out that Marvel actually did go and make the same mistake DC did... in 2009 Marvel sold themselves to Disney, at a time when they were actually doing well and did not need to sell out. IMO Marvel selling themselves at the time they did was a dumber mistake then what DC did... Disney now owns Marvel, right now they are letting Marvel do their own thing but what happens when Disney gets new management and the new guys decide they want to get involved. DC fans have been wishing that DC didn't sell themselves many years ago... and then Marvel for no reason, at a time when they were heading for big things makes that same mistake.

a rose is a rose most say.

MARVEL COMICS#1 featured the human torch and namor hummm.

are you telling me if dc changed its name and nothing else, then thats day 1 for that company.

and even if you do, are you telling me dc signed on wb in 1960 (or before) for over 50 years.

as i said, seems like you could mess up and be right about something one time by now lol,but im still waiting.

ive got to go to town but feel free to keep digging that hole yr in amd ill brb ok.

that adds up a lot better than pattys dribble. and many many companies have sold some (like marvel did) or all of its rights to a bigger company as to stomp its compition and looks like it worked like a champ for marvel didnt it.
