One of the most controversial panels from The Killing Joke depicts a broken Jim Gordon being tormented by the Joker, who forces him to look at pictures of his naked, grievously wounded daughter Barbara. Well, turns out the original image was even more disturbing..

In The Killing Joke, The Joker shoots Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) through the spine before taking some snaps that he later shows to her father in order to drive him mad. It's, understandably, a pretty controversial moment that has had fans speculating upon for years: Are we to believe that The Joker only stripped Barbara for the photographs, or did he sexually assault her too? Morbid speculation to be sure - but the following unused artwork from Brian Bolland, Tweeted by Gosh!Comics employee Billy Hynes, definitely hints at a more sexual element to the Joker's torture of Barbara.

Yeah, that's taking it too far. Still haven't read The Killing Joke but hoping to get it for Christmas. From what I've heard it sounds like a good read.

I would say that central image of Barbara, breasts exposed, blood all over her lower body, tortured look on her face is more disturbing yes.

But I guess some would just see "boobies" too.

I think it would of been more disgusting if Joker made Gordon watch as he raped Barbara. Alan Moore should have popped an extra tab before he wrote this and that may have been the outcome.

Not that much of a difference. I mean, her breasts were still in the actual book, right behind where joker sings "If you hurt inside get certified".

I bought The Killing Joke and when i came to this scene and what happens afterword just didnt satisfy me. I thought it was a bit to grim and a bit to disturbing and dark for a Batman comic.

This comic sadly was not for me but my ex loved it.
