Will Black Adam replace Captain Marvel in the DCCU?

Here is a crazy idea, what if Black Adam will replace Captain Marvel/Shazam in the DCCU? What if Shazam will take place in space and we will get to see Black Adam clash with Lobo!

Before I write another word I must say that what you guys are about to read is only my personal idea!!! It’s not a theory nor is it the way WB should/must portray the Black Adam character. I’m not saying that this idea is the best idea ever, just a “cool” spin on the source material.

I know that what I’m about to say won’t be received well by many fans, but I have to say it regardless. Nothing that happens in the movie should piss off the comic book fans. The studies can make whatever changes they want, it won’t change the comic-book themselves. Those stories that the fans love won’t be effected by changed that Hollywood makes, so there is no need to be all grumpy when a studio decides to do some “tweaks” to the source material. If it works, then we are all happy. If it doesn’t, well then screw that studio. But there is no reason to jump on the hate train to early. You have to make certain changes and compromises when you are building a cinematic universe. Different movies must connect with one and another, otherwise it won’t work. Marvel did these things, and look how well it worked out for them, even with all the changes that they made.

With that being said, here is what I think (well, not really think, more of an idea that I’m throwing out there) that WB should do with Black Adam and Captain Marvel.

We all know that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be playing Black Adam in the DC Cinematic Universe. The Rock has been hyping his part in DCCU so much, that you might think that what I’m about to write, might actually happen. He did hinted that we might see Black Adam before the “Shazam!” movie, and also added that we might get to see him punch Superman in the face, and that Black Adam will be a villain that turns into an anti-hero down the road. All of these stuff got me thinking.

First of all, I can’t believe that WB will cast someone like The Rock just for one movie. I mean, this is the freaking Rock! He single handedly saved the Fast and the Furious franchise. He is one of the hottest actors right now, people pay good money to see him on screen. Why in the hell would you cast him for a role in a movie that is almost 5 years away from now? No I think we will see him much sooner, maybe even next year!

Stay with me on this ride.

I have a feeling that we will see Black Adam in either Batman v Superman or Justice League Part I. He might even appear in the “Wonder Woman” stand-alone (after all both of them have connections to Greek mythology). Hell, he might even be teased in freaking Suicide Squad. But I have a feeling (yet again, just my own spidy-sense) that Black Adam will be the main villain in Justice League Part I.
I know many people say that they want to see big names like Brainiac or Darkseid in there. But I say, why would you rush it? Darkseid should appear down the line, Justice League 3 or something like that. WB can start establishing him early (like Thanos), but I don’t want WB to go straight to the big guns just because Marvel is giving us Thanos in 2018. I will buy a “New Gods” movies at some point, a movie that will showcase Darkside, and show as how evil he is before he meets the Justice League. I do hope to see Brainiac at some point, but because I’m trying to sell my idea here, I think WB should bring Brainiac in only in Part II.

So anyway. In Justice League Part I the heroes (Superman, Batman, WonderWoman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg) all team up again Black Adam. You may be asking where is Green Lantern in all of this? Well don’t worry, I have planes for him too. But he won’t be in Part I (well just based on my idea). I think they should wait a little before bringing Green Lantern back to the mix, just because of the 2011 stink-bomb. There is enough DC comics hate as it is. Plus too many heroes in one movie is always bad. I want WB to establish Green Lantern, not just to throw him in there just for the fan service.

Anyway. In JL 1, Black Adam comes to Erath to exact his vengeance and take over the world. Or maybe he just was locked up in some magical prison on Earth, and now he is out (maybe because of something that happens in Wonder Woman?) Black Adam sees himself as a God, and he believes that all must kneel before him. So he gets really angry when he learns that people like Superman are around.

Lots of cool and epic stuff, but in the end of the day the Justice League saves the day, and Black Adam is exiled from Earth. WB don’t need to establish him too much, because the movies must first of all be focused on the heroes. But you can’t have a great superhero movie without a great villain. The audience should like Black Adam deep down inside, even though he is the big bad guy. And the Rock could sell it, I mean it hard not to like this guy. So Black Adam should get a similar reaction to what Loki got.

Fast forward to 2019. In the same year we have 2 big movies: “Shazam!” and Justice League Part II. I have a feeling that Shazam! will set up Part II real good.

So after his defeat in Part I, Black Adam finds himself on some planet. All he wants is to get his strange back and fly back to Earth and to it all over again. But he is still weak after his ass was kicked by the Justice League. The Shazam! movie won’t have Billy Batson aka  Captain Marvel. The movie will be the redemption story of Black Adam. We will learn about his origins. 5000 years ago he was Pharaoh Teth-Adam in Ancient Egypt. But then a great dark force came to his Kingdome. In order to save his people Adam goes to the wizard Shazam who gives his the great powers of the Gods. Shazam warns Adam that the powers have dark side effects, and Adam must surrender the powers back to Shazam after he saves Egypt. But after saving his Kingdome, Adam get consumed by the power, and now he start seeing himself as a God, so he keeps the power all for himself. He because a tyrant. His own family turns on him and in the end he gets exiled from Earth by Shazam.

The movie will be almost a crazy mix between Planet Hulk and the God of War games. The origins story will take a small part of the movie, most of it will be in space. Adam will actually be hunted down by some aliens, since there is a big bounty on his head. He will clash with the Green Lantern Corps (introducing Hal Jordan or John Stewart, I’m cool with both of them). But the big clash will be from yet another bad-ass anti-hero, Lobo. He will be played by Joe Manganiello. Who won’t pay to see that?

Lobo will try to claim the big bounty, and we will get some epic moments when Black Adam and Lobo will clash.

This movie will be a crazy ride, and it all will be set in space. The movie will also establish the Green Lantern character, so by the time we see him in JL part 2, people already know who he is. But Green Lantern won’t play a too big role in the movie, after all the movie is called “Shazam!” and not “Green Lantern v Black Adam: Punch of Lobo”. But this movie will help to save the Green Lantern image, and show how great of a character he is, and that there is much more story in the Green Lantern lore. And it will certainly get people interested in the Green Lantern stand-alone (that won’t be an origins story movie).

I think that a big theme in Batman v Superman will be about the consequences of this God-like characters. So in Shazam, it will be about the ramifications of Adam’s actions in the past. You can’t just turn into a good guy after you were a super-villain for 5000 years. I always saw Black Adam as Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, and I believe The Rock will be so bad-ass in the role.

No disrespect to Captain Marvel/Shazam, but most people don’t really know who the character is. And if you ask the general audience (the majority that pays for the movie what movie) what movie they prefer to watch: Yet another Superman-type movie about a kid that shouts “Shazam!” to the sky and becomes a big dude that looks very much like Superman. Or a movie about a bad-ass anti-hero that takes place in space, starring The Rock!

I mean this spin on the character could be so different from any other superhero movie out there. There is a reason why people like Guardians of the Galaxy so much, it was unlike anything else that Marvel did. And I want there to be some virility in the DC movies. One movie is set in a big city, another set in a magical word (Wonder Woman), a movie that happens under water in Atlantis and more.
Anyway, going back to my crazy idea. By the end of the movie, Black Adam will learn that because of his past actions, Brainiac is on his way to Earth. Black Adam will team up with Hal Jordan/John Stewart, and they will go to Earth, setting up Justice League Part II.

In Part II, the Justice League will fight Brainiac. Black Adam will be there for the help, but he won’t be trusted. He will play almost a similar role to the Hulk. He can save the world, but in the same breath he can blow it up.

Now I’m not saying that the character of Captain Marvel/Shazam won’t make an appearance at some point in these movies, but I think that if WB will go with this route, it will be crazy and Epic at the same time.

I’m sure that most comic-book fans will hate this idea, but remember, it’s not good until it’s proven that it’s cool. Marvel did so many changes in their movies, but people let it go because Marvel is killing it right now. I think that most people are very skeptical with the DC movies right now.

But yet again, this idea is cool in my head only, it might turn into a disaster, but hey, WB this idea is for free!

Before everyone goes apeshit in the comments make sure to read the editorial first. Or at least this part

I'd be cool with this.

Also, the Rock has said before that as part of his contract, he'll be appearing in multiple movies as eventually he'll have big fights with the likes of Superman and Batman. So he won't just be a one movie villain.

Eh. Don't like the Justice League allowing a villain into their ranks so early.

@SnapperCarr
He won't, like I said he won't be really trusted, almost like The Hulk. But I should add that the heroes won't really take him in, so he will be the unofficial member of the League.

John campea mentioned this on amc movie talk or heroes about the rock playing black Adam then turning into shazam! Not saying you took this idea from him but it kinda makes sense. Not only that but rock even said we will see black Adam as a villain first then turn him into shazam maybe the anti hero. The other point was whoever plays shazam to do the character right the majority would be played by a kid as billy batson.

We need to get everyone to call him SHAZAM since it's really getting confusing

Dwayne Johnson has stated that he'll fight the Justice League some time down the line, but not now. I'm hoping that Shazam introduces Prince Khufu and Chay-ara and Nabu along with the wizard Shazam and Teth-Adam, to set up Hawkman/girl and Doctor Fate down the line. I think they'll definitely introduce Billy Batson, but Black Adam just might get the focus.
