COMICS: HydraCap's Fate Revealed In SECRET EMPIRE: OMEGA #1 Preview

Steve Rogers returned to defeat HydraCap in Secret Empire #10 but what's going to become of the villain? Well, this first look at Secret Empire: Omega #1 sheds some light on what's next for him...

In Secret Empire #10, the original Steve Rogers was brought back via the Cosmic Cube. However, the Captain America loyal to Hydra and imposing his will over the world was technically the real deal too as his memories were changed by the Red Skull and Kobik so he was left believing that he'd always been part of the villainous organisation. As a result, there are now two Caps in the Marvel Universe!

In this first look at epilogue story Secret Empire: Omega #1, we see the heroic Steve visiting HydraCap in the extremely secure facility he's being kept in and that promises to make for a tense exchange!

Many fans have wondered if the two would somehow be merged but it appears as if the plan is to have HydraCap remain part of the Marvel Universe  - possibly as Captain Hydra - so he can one day return to plague Steve and the rest of The Avengers. If that is the case, it seems there will be no simple fix to this story and that we can forget about a Cosmic Cube being used to bring back
HydraCap's victims!

Not interested. That final battle was such a huge anticlimactic letdown.

Basically the true Captain America is still HydraCap, meaning evil, and a figment of imagination (of Kobik) is the brand new Captain America?

K.

I hope Waid's run isn't supposed to redeem this Cap cause he didn do nuffin and it would not make any sense!

@Doomsday8888 - How did you manage to get that logic? The Cap of Hydra is a fake Cap manifested by Kobik. The real Cap is the one that saved the day.

The effects of the Cosmic Cube are total reality bending, as has been documented in the comics since 1966. The effects are only as permanent as the current holder of the cube wishes them to be.

"I made him because I thought Hydra was the best thing."

Kobik MADE Hydra Cap. Made him. He is fake.

Alright then i suggest you to reread the issues when Red Skull changes Steve thanks to Kobik.
HydraCap it's the real Cap. He's just got f*cked up by Kobik.

No, man.
That's just how Kobik remembers him, it's a carbon copy of the real Steve? Maybe, but the *REAL* one is still HydraCap.

In order to have the real one back, Kobik must change back the reality as it was pre-Red Skull.

@Doomsday8888 - You're not arguing with me anymore, you're arguing with the actual comic pages which prove me right.

*sigh*
I'm trying to be polite here, and have a discussion instead of arguing, but if that's what you want:

So you see, she changed Steve, "saved" the real one in her "database" and brought that to life.
Memory-> to life.
STILL NOT THE REAL DEAL!
As Steve said in that panel, she CAN change him back, hell, maybe she will do that in Omega, but as of right now, we have Two Steve Rogers, and one is fake.
Memory=Fake.
Real Steve Rogers->changed into HydraCap= Still the Real Steve Rogers.

@Doomsday8888 - "You can make me REAL again" REAL REAL REAL

Nick Spencer's words, not mine!

"I MADE HIM" said Kobik Made=fabricated, Memory=real

Logic works like this.

If you chop up an apple and put it in a pie, is it still an apple?

Or, is an identical apple grown from the same apple's seed a fake apple?

Which version is the apple?

@TheFamousJMC
I mean....of course she made him, that's the whole point, right?
Where do you think the HydraCap came from?
Kobik made him! How? By changing Steve and the reality around him!
So where did the Real Cap go?
Deleted.
He ceased to exist.
How can you bring him back? By turning the clock back, just like before.
But for now, the new Cap, the one that defeated HydraCap, is just a memory of Kobik.
Just like it says in that panel.

AwesomePromoz - 9/7/2017, 2:43 PM
@Doomsday8888 - No, because even as you make a fair point, he insists that she can make him "real again"

Why are you struggling so hard with the word real?
Doomsday8888
Doomsday8888 - 9/7/2017, 2:56 PM
@TheFamousJMC -
I said the same thing, she CAN make him real, she did.
That's the point, she gave life to a memory.
That Steve Rogers was abstract, and she made him real.
And yet...That's still not the real, as in original, Steve Rogers.
It's a copy of the original.
lol i dunno what more to say to be honest! :P

AwesomePromoz - 9/7/2017, 3:06 PM
@Doomsday8888 - Real AGAIN. You seem to have a problem interpreting the words that are there; you get selective with it.

Ok the new Cap is a totally indistinguishable, perfect copy of the old Cap. I tend to think it's the essence of Cap that matter, but whatever.

So are you annoyed that the original Cap body is still a bad guy? Did you want him actually wished back using the cube, and that was the only acceptable narrative? because in my book, wishes are a dumb way of resolving a saga, but it works in the Wizard of Oz, so...

Anyway, I think the whole resolution was predictable and dumb, but not because the body of Hydra Cap still exists as Hydra Cap. Evil clones are a mainstay in CA and Marvel in general, so maybe now it's time to have fun cheering for a good clone.

I actually have lots of issues with SE, but i liked the overall run.
Having a "fake" Cpt.America bugs me a lil bit, but having the "body of the original one", even though it was changed, it's kinda interesting to me.
But who knows, maybe they will merge the two of them, and have the good and bad in one body.

This is by far the worst of all the sjw liberal story lines they could have done. It seems they got the memo at the bank deposit line with declining sales and walked back the ending. This is the reason I no longer spend my money on Marvel comics any longer. This was the shining light, the untarnished and the beating heart of being a Patriotic American and you just throw it away because you think white males are a problem. Not much you can do now on the comic book front to get my money back. It would help if Marvel issued an apology both written and televised to its ling time readers. Own up to the mistake and move on dont sweep it under the rug. You (and I mean Marvel) have to acknowledge this mistake so we know you will not do it again. Fix yourself Marvel and your fans will return.

Cap has needed a shakeup In His rogues gallery, the Grand Director was good, but didn't have same the buildup as Hydra Cap. Pretty Sure He and Zemo are gonna rebuild the Masters of Evil.

Did "Good guy" Cap take out a guy's eyeball to get past the security scanner? Because that totally looks like the thing Loki used to take out a guy's eyeball in "The Avengers".

@Chewtoy -

Idk if Kobik's Cap is capable of something like that... granted he's breaking into the prison.

The "eye" used seems electronic. I'm sure it's just a device that scans a retinal i.d.; a harmless tactic.
