Kieron Gillen has a story to tell, and he says that it "leads towards stuff that fundamentally changes Tony's idea of self." According to Gillen, "It's the Stark origin story, essentially. In a very literal way as in: where did Tony come from?"

Although Gillen claims that he doesn't want to give too much away, he did say that story will feature Howard and Maria Stark and that much of it will take place in Vegas. According to Gillen, "there's something about the patriarch in Howard, despite being a playboy," and Maria is "very much a civilian but also very capable. Picture a 1960's leading lady."

The flashback story occurs while Tony is still in deep space, and it coincides with the 50th anniversary of Iron Man. For more information from the interview, visit Marvel.com
