LEGO Godzilla Set Leaks Ahead Of Official Reveal — And It's An Absolute Monster

LEGO's Godzilla: King of the Monsters-inspired Godzilla set has surfaced early, and this colossal 5,363-piece build looks every bit as intimidating as the kaiju itself...but the price tag is also huge.

Ahead of an expected official reveal on November 3, the upcoming LEGO Godzilla—based on the iconic kaiju's appearance in 2019's MonsterVerse movie, Godzilla: King of the Monsters—has been spotted on sale.

The LEGO Ideas 21375 Godzilla set will be a whopping 5,363 pieces and stands an impressive 70 cm tall. However, it comes with a similarly massive price tag: $450.

Still, it's undeniably impressive and is bundled with Godzilla's iconic Atomic Breath and what looks like decent, albeit limited, articulation. For those who pick this up on Black Friday, it will come with a "Godzilla Footprint" Gift With Purchase, but those tend to disappear fast and usually wind up on eBay shortly after.

It's surprising how often sets like these are revealed in advance on social media, and how easily they seem to find their way into stores. Still, the leaked images have got everyone talking, and we're sure the official reveal will still draw plenty of interest.

First Look At Sequel's King Ghidorah Design

In 2019, we spoke with Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty about redesigning Godzilla for the sequel. "He changes in every film. That's what's great about the character," the filmmaker shared. "He evolves and changes with every incarnation. I don't think there are any two Godzilla films where he's completely identical. I felt like we were just continuing that tradition."

"It's always totally recognisable as Godzilla, but if you look at every single one put side by side, you'll notice all these amazing changes and what I really love about that with the character is that it embodies the themes and messages of the film," he continued. "He's Mother Nature's 800-tonne gorilla, so to me, he's evolution in the flesh."

Godzilla: King of the Monsters follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

When these ancient super-species, thought to be mere myths, rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

That is awful. The original fan submission was so much better.
