lmao Marvel is dolling out these #1 issues but not admitting to following DC's formula

what a lame scheme, and from the September/October sales released... it ain't working for Marvel

I likes it. The art is very good. I think Vision should be incorporated into a movie soon.

People here must not be too familiar with comics.

This isn't Marvel doing a "reboot". This is a one-shot Origins tale. Marvel AND DC do it all the time. Calm down about the damn Reboot already.

The real Vision has been gone for far too long. Bring back the bad-ass who owned the Avengers title through-out the 70's.

And I too love the fact that he looks like he stepped out of Flash Gordon serials. He's an artificial man whose body was built in the 30's... What look could fit better?

@ AiyalKilU

nearly all of marvels books over the last few years have gone back to number 1,so to me it sounds like dc are copying marvel.

@ easterbunnykiller

blame the editors, are these actually sold books or the numbers based on what has shipped from dc to comic shops.

50% of the market share it won't last, once people start dropping titles.

say a buyer has brought all 52 new titles, how many readers will continue buying all 52 books in say 6 months or a year down the road? not many,i'm only intrested in about five or six books which i will buy in trade form.

no way all these titles will last a year,i predict about a quarter will be cancelled.

How is this a reboot? It's just a RE-TELLING with modern art.
@EasterbunnyKiller: check out Marvel and DC sales for the past 30 something and see who comes out on top in sales.

@SageMode: That's what's pissing me off, too.

It says, plain as day, in the title of this article that this is a re-TELLING. Not a GD reboot. It's not a "new #1", it's a one-shot origin book.

@ EasterBunnyKiller,

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you analyze the industry statistics for the last 30 years, Marvel dominates. It's not unusual for DC to break the trend for a few months, it has happened before. This is not new. But Marvel, always gets back on top. It's the way things are. Do enjoy DC's golden moment. But I predict that Marvel will get back on top soon.

If you really think that DC will remain on top forever, you are delusional.

I predict that, since the Avengers movie is being released next year, Marvel will do some heavy marketing and events and will get back on the #1 spot easily.

I must say, I find it amusing that DC had to reboot their entire universe and make it more in a "Marvel style" in order to sell more comics. That's basically accepting that they sucked.

The good: Vision is a decent character.

The bad: The retelling of the character's origin.

The ugly: If and only if this comic turns a profit.

To me, the art looks more "refined painted Sienkiewicz" than Irving Frazier.

First of all, Avengers Origins aren't reboots. They are JUST what they are titled: A retelling of the origin stories of various Avenger characters. Nothing more. All these DC fanboys cant wait to jump on Marvel's a$$ so bad they are willing to just make $hit up to do it. Go buy either the mag and read it or yourself a clue fanboys.

A little history: The Vision is NOT the Human Torch remade. Roy Thomas hinted at that back in the Neal Adams drawn issue where Ant-Man goes inside him to get him working again. It was the first issue of the Kree\Skrull war. Pym spied a component and acted real surprised but it was not revealed what it was. A few years later it was revealed that it was a component used to build the original Torch, adn that Professor Horton (the Torch's creator) had been abducted by Ultron (and later killed) to aid in his construction. They even had a Kang time travel story where the two meet to further that plot line. It was revealed years later however that the two were NOT the same. Ultron had abducted Horton not to rebuild his android but to aid in building another using some of the same spare parts, Thus the reason some of Torches parts were in the Vision. This allowed Marvel to bring the original Torch back (FINALLY!!!) while keeping the Vision around.

Bottom line: They are two different androids which happen to have a few of the same components.

As to whats going on with the Vision the last decade, I have NO idea. Since She-Hulk ripped him in half in the Avengers Disassemble storyline, I have no idea. He's been languishing in limbo and effed with so much I don't even know if the REAL Vision even exists anymore.

@ EasterBunnyKiller,

You are a liar. Dude, for real, if you are going to say something as if it is a fact, at least do some research to back your argument.

June 2009: MARVEL COMICS 50.91%
