COMICS: Marvel's Relaunched UNCANNY X-MEN Series Will Kick Off With A 10-Part Story Arc Titled DISASSEMBLED
Big changes are coming to Marvel Comics' mighty mutants, as the publisher gets set to revive the Uncanny X-Men title this November with an epic 10-part story. Hit the jump for more details on Disassembled.
"Welcome to the X-Men, hope you survive the experience!"
While there are several X-Men books currently being published by Marvel, the iconic Uncanny X-Men title has been dormant for a little over a year. But as we learned back at SDCC, the popular title will be making a comeback this November, and it looks like the ongoing series will kick things off with bang.
In an official announcement from Marvel, it was revealed that a writing trio - consisting of Ed Brisson, Kelly Thompson and Matthew Rosenberg - would be teaming up with an impressive collection of artists comprised of Mahmud Asrar, R.B. Silva, Yildiray Cinar and Pere Perez to relaunch Uncanny X-Men.
However, the series won't begin like your average comic book, for the title will launch with an epic storyline titled Disassembled. And like the similarly named Avengers: Disassembled, not every hero is expected to survive the experience, as Marvel said the book's future "depends on who is left standing."
This story arc, which is described as an "epic tale of mystery and tragic disappearance," will consist of 10 parts, and each installment will release on a weekly, rather than monthly, basis.
