You can't launch a new Marvel Universe without having your own version of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and that's who'll form this June in Marvel's Ultimate line of comics.

Following the relaunch of the Ultimate universe, Iron Lad, who contains knowledge of the original Ultimate universe before The Maker (an alternate, evil version of Mr. Fantastic) tampered with it.

He's out to reform The Avengers  Ultimates but its opening roster will be a little different this time around.

In the main 616-universe, The Avengers debuted with a roster of f Iron Man, Ant-Man, Hulk, Thor and the Wasp.

The 2002 launch of the 1610-universe Ultimates saw a Nick Fury-assembled debut roster of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver stop a Chitauri invasion.

This time around, it seems the relaunched Ultimates will feature Iron Lad, Captain America, Giant-Man/Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, and Sif, who are to thwart The Maker and his Council's evil machinations.

Check out a preview of the debut issue below, courtesy of Comicbook. The Ultimates #1 from writer Deniz Camp and artist Juan Frigeri will hit comic book shops on June 5th.

Of the new series, Camp stated, "They're more like a resistance network in occupied territory. Think of the partisans in WWII. People with very different backgrounds, beliefs, and reasons for fighting, united by common enemy."

"That means there is going to be friction about how to go about it, especially as the team expands. This Tony Stark – Iron Lad – is a little more idealistic than 616 Tony. He's still young, so he's still trying to figure out who he's going to be. Captain America and Doom are kind of pulling him in opposing directions, trying to influence the make-up and methods of the Ultimates. "

"Thor and Sif kind of come and go as they please, they are not as bound by the team (or time and space)."

Six months ago, Tony Stark sent Peter Parker a radioactive spider to set him back on the course to become Spider-Man. Since then, Iron Lad (Stark), Captain America, Doom, Thor and Sif have begun to do the same for other lost heroes, building a network of super-powered heroes hungry for change... Now they must band together to destroy the Maker's Council and restore freedom and free will to a world ruled from the shadows!

I mean I don't now how you could ever compete with the original Millar/Hitch Ultimates, but judging it on it's own merits it looks interesting.

The Ultimates are originally Ironman, Giantman, Wasp and Captain America (only because he's found) Thor refuses to initially join and they eventually come together to defeat the Hulk.

Hawkeye, Blackwidow, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver didn't join till after.
