COMICS: Spidey's Black Suit Is Returning In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #800 And It Will Be Sticking Around

It's been revealed today that Peter Parker will regain his black costume in the pages of Dan Slott's Amazing Spider-Man #800 but when the title is relaunched by Nick Spencer, it will be sticking around!

During a Marvel Comics retailer-only panel at Chicago's C2E2 convention, it was revealed by new Marvel Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski that the wall-crawler will regain his black suit in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #800. The reason hasn't been revealed but pages from the issue were shown and it was also confirmed that the suit will carry on over into Nick Spencer and Ryan Stegman's run.


They're relaunching the title as part of Marvel's "Fresh Start" initiative and the last time Spencer got his hands on a fan-favourite superhero, he made Captain America a member of HYDRA, so who knows what he has in store for Peter Parker! Bear in mind that the last time he donned the suit was because his Aunt May was shot, so perhaps something just as life-changing will happen to the hero in #800!

Spidey recently gained a new symbiote in the pages of Venom, so it's also possible that he'll be wearing that. Then again, with Avengers: Infinity War on the horizon, it's hard not to wonder if Peter's trip into outer space won't result in him gaining an alien suit! That's just speculation for now, of course, so we'll have to wait and see. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Always loved that costume. Will this mean Peter will have to work with the Venom symbiote for some reason? That could be interesting route considering they really don't like each other now and the effects Venom can have on Peter's personality.

He doesn't have a symbiote. He was spit upon by Maniac...AKA Lee Price. Anti-Venom AKA Flash Thompson removed it from all of Lee's goons and Maniac fled after the fight. I'm hoping Andi Benton gets Maina back and Toxin comes back soon.

That Captain America Hydra controversy was way overblown. It was never going to stick around. Comics used to do that stuff all the time in the Silver Age. With cliffhangers like:

"Batman is now a criminal?!l"

"The Riddler arrests Batman1?"

The symbiote black suit or the normal black suit he dons when he's not in the mood to be Mr. nice guy anymore like in Back in Black?

In the end it is a good look, but if it is the former then I get flashbacks of playing with it and alternating with the normal in the Web of Shadows game. Good memories.

I feel it must be said that Back in Black is still the best thing to happen to Spider-man in years. Everything pre and post civil war was Spidey gold (except maybe the Gwen stuff lol).
