What an adventure! Chip Zdarsky (Sex Criminals) sure knows how to deliver a twist!

But let's start at the beginning. Marvel's Doom 2099 #1 opens with a lost and bewildered Doom being dragged throough the Ravage by Thorites - which doesn't last long before he takes the upper hand and dispatches of them.

Set in Marvel's future universe of 2099 titles, this comic then follows Doom on his quest to discover his past and exactly who he is. Even in times of distress he knows he must return to Latveria and he knows what his genius is capable of for the world.

Speaking of geniuses, we get to check in on the 2099 Tinkerer who lives on the edge of the Ravage to collect parts and re-build things. Our protagonist utilizes the technology that Tinkerer has at hand to get himself to his goal - an impostor Doom reigning supreme - in the place he knew he must be. Because of the twist - we won't spoil the ending for you here.

Although it released alongside Spider-Man 2099 this week, Doom 2099 #1 is much more action-packed and features a thrilling story that will have you darting between panels to grasp the answers, and likely going back for a second read-through. See Doom take on Thorites, Reed Richards, and an Impostor Doom in his quest to reclaim his memory and his throne. Zdarsky delivers a wonderful story with an unexpected twist that many readers won't see coming. - Four out of five.
The future is Doom! In 2099, everything has changed. Technology has changed. Governments have changed. People have changed. But only one thing has remained the same…DOOM.
Marvel's Doom 2099 #1 is currently available at your local comic retailer for a ticket price of $4.99!
