Thanos has already been beheaded but Infinity Wars continues delivering some huge surprises as another fan-favourite character met their maker in yesterday's issue. Before we get to that, though, the villainous Requiem's identity has been revealed and the woman behind the mask is actually Gamora!

Little is known about her motivations at this stage or why she would choose to turn on her fellow heroes but it all goes back to the Infinity Stones and the fact she's obsessed with acquiring the Soul Stone in order to free a part of her own soul which is trapped inside of that. Gobsmacked at this revelation, Star-Lord is convinced that she won't hurt him...until she stabs him right through the chest!

While the regret can be seen on her face, this is quite clearly a killing blow and it's hard to imagine how either Thanos or Star-Lord will ever come back from what's been done to them. What do you guys think? Are they really dead or is something else going on? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

I was gonna make a joke about the "hard to imagine how they'll come back" but 2 people beat me to it.

I think somebody actually guessed that it was Gamora on the previous thread about this.

More shock value. Someone on here already predicted the masked person was Gamora. Characters death, "guess who" masked characters, typical tropes used constantly. Marvels comics are so lame compared to their films.

Duggan has been...really dissapointing with this whole story, and i usually really dig his stories.
They also revealed the identity of Requiem and y'all guessed it right.

Marvel Comics can't tell entertaining stories. They haven't done so in nearly 30 years. All they know is the death & return shit.

@ManDeth - I'd say the tipping point for me was Siege.

They were still doing really cool concepts up to the soft reboot Siege brought about, and I would say that's being shown by the HUGE number of stories that have already been adapted for the movies (and lesser for TV) from 2000-2010.

Fell off reading consistently around Siege though, so I can't speak to anything after that.

@ManDeth - like hate the execution if you want but the concepts were solid

I hate to say it, but Marvel needs to reboot. They've screwed their comics up so bad over the past decade....
