Marvel Comics Reveals That SPIDER-MAN: MILES MORALES Will Finally Square Off With CARNAGE This May

Peter Parker has battled Carnage on many memorable occasions, but Cletus Kasady now looks set to take aim at Miles Morales in an upcoming event series that promises to push this Spider-Man to his limits!

Marvel Comics has announced that Miles Morales is finally set to have a terrifying encounter with one of Spider-Man's deadliest foes: Carnage! As the "Summer of Symbiotes" continues to be unleashed, Carnage Reigns will kick off in May with a giant-sized alpha one-shot before unfolding in both characters’ respective ongoing solo titles.

Crafted by guest Carnage writer Alex Paknadel and current Miles Morales: Spider-Man scribe Cody Ziglar, this visceral saga promises to be one of Miles’ most intense clashes as Carnages forces the young hero to confront brutality he’s never experienced in his time as Spider-Man.

Readers of both series will see the story build on current plot developments including Carnage’s extreme transformation and the toll Miles’ superhero career has taken on his personal life. The seven-part crossover will also tie into an upcoming issue of Alex Paknadel and Jan Bazaldua's Red Goblin series and wrap up in June’s Carnage Reigns Omega #1

The story is going to feature art by an all-star lineup of talent, including Julius Ohta as well as Miles Morales: Spider-Man and Carnage's regular artists, Federico Vicentini and Francesco Manna.

Cletus Kasady is back and badder than ever. With his soul trapped within the Extrembiote Armor created by Tony Stark during King in Black, Cletus has the means to level an untold amount of chaos and, well, carnage on New York City and the entire Marvel Universe.

But like any good Tony Stark invention, the Extremis coursing through Cletus’ symbiotic veins needs power, and that means Cletus is hungry. Good thing Brooklyn’s very own Spider-Man is there to stand in his way! If he survives their first encounter, that is.

Below, you can see Ryan Stegman's cover for Carnage Reigns Alpha #1, Dike Ruan's cover for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #6, and Kendrick "kunkka" Lim's cover for Carnage #13

Who do you think is going to win this fight?

"Finally" my ass.

Here is how you know Josh doesn't read comics: Miles has dealt with Carnage before, during the "King in Black" precursor event, "Absolute Carnage".

The tie-in was actually called "Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales" for [frick]s sake.

They really can't be bothered to give this kid his own villains, his own girlfriend nothing? It's even Cleatus in the symbiote. Not an original character for Miles?

@Chaos200 - They can't even be bothered to give him his own superhero name, he's still going by Spider-Man, which is ridiculous.

@leethario - Oh, Carnage has revived and died and revived again since then, lol. He was brought back via The Darkhold and empowered by Chthon, which gave him immunity to Sound damage but added some magical vulnerability, and then while bonded to Norman Osborn as Red Goblin, it took in the Goblin Serum and gained invulnerability to Heat/Flame, but can still be hurt by lightning.

He also became the Champion of Knull, God of the Symbiotes and the Primordial Abyss, and is now currently trying to ascend to godhood himself.
