Mini Reviews Part 3: The MCU

This review is about the few things the MCU did wrong (most of the stuff they've done are incredible in my opinion).

First off, i must say that I COMPLETELY LOVE MOST OF THE MOVIES, THEY ARE AWESOME. But, there are some things that i do not like at all, and here is a list of them.

-The Mandarin: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?? Iron Man 3 was such a big opportunity  and they  completely ruined it. This could be redeemed though, as we have since learnt that the character does exist in this universe.

-The portrayal of Thor: The casting and characterization for both Thor and Loki are really good. But the 2 movies are so bad. There is no Norse feeling to them (like in LOTR or Skyrim). Moreover, this Thor doesn’t really fly, he doesn’t have his helmet, the frost “giants” are small and the action is bad. However, this could also be partially redeemed in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.

-Hank Pym: I love the Antman movie. That being said, there is so much I would have liked to see. Young Hank and Wasp as founding Avengers (Wasp coming up with the name), Giant Man, Hank creating Ultron and Hank becoming evil as Yellow Jacket. We have probably lost all of that. However, i still have a liittle hope as we could still see a prequel movie called “Avengers Initiative” or something, set in the 70s-80s, featuring Hank, Wasp, Spider Woman, a young Nick Fury and maybe even some mutant (when they get the rights).

-Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: I think that, other than the Green lantern movie, this is the worst thing ever done based on a comic book. Obviously, im just talking about the potential this had and the ruined opportunities. Not only they ruined SHIELD, they ruined the opportunity to really establish a world where superpowers, aliens, supernatural beings, spies, and evil corporations are common. I did a whole article about the potential the show had which you can check out here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fan_fic/news/?a=100070 . I would’ve also liked to see a movie called SHIELD centered in Hawkeye and Black Widow instead of Iron Man 2. A prequel movieabout SHIELD is still possible though.

-Other minor mistakes:
-Iron man 2: The story was just inconsistent. Should have been a SHIELD movie.
-Captain America, TFA's ending: The ending was kind of weird (red skull’s death, plane scene doesnt make sense, freezing for 70 years and awakening in NY scene).
-Cap in the Avengers movie: Captain America’s lame characterization, suit and action scenes. (However, they REALLY redeemed him in TWS and AOU).
-Ants/ Ant-Communicator: The ant-communication system was weird and didn’t make sense, they should have stayed with the helmet. The different ant species also really bothered me (electrical ants? Wtf).
-Thor cave scene in AOU.
-Killing Quicksilver instead of Hawkeye
-The bad villains.
-The over the top humor and sarcasm of every character ever (Ultron im looking at you).

Thats all guys! What do you think? Please comment on your thoughts below!

The first Thor movie was awesome! I agree with the article on some levels like the mandarin and Thor 2. But Thor not wearing his helmet is nitpicking. Cinematically the helmet doesn't work. Most of the stuff on here like the hank pym stuff, you want it exactly like the comics and not every comic book movie is gonna be exactly like the comics. Don't like, then don't watch the movies.

@deathpillow Haha you sounded like you were high when writing that but i understood and agree. I think Iron Man 2 was 3 movies in 1.

A) One about Tony's weapons falling in the wrong hands (the government stuff, Justin Hammer, Warmachine and Whiplash).
B) One about Tony dying (the reactor being old, alcholism, Pepper as CEO).
C) One about Tony finding the secrets of SHIELD and his father (undercover Black Widow, Nick Fury, Howard Stark and that New Element thing).

They should have either ditched B) and C) or just make a movie about SHIELD centered on Hawkeye and Black Widow with brief appearences/mentions of Ironman and Hulk and setting up the Avengers.. Kevin Feige even said that they planned to have the Mandarin as villain until a week before filming or something like that, it was a mess.

@dapug88 Yeah, i am a bit obssesive about that haha. I am going to write an editorial about casting where i will explain why i want the characters adapted as we know them. Hemsworth said they didnt go with the helmet because it was uncomfortable to him. But i know, the real problem to me with that movie is that it didnt have a Norse feeling, i dont know, i wanted huge Frost Giants haha. I dont like that movie so i dont see it. But as i said in the article, i completley love most mcu movies.

@DurtyTalynt You've just reminded me that i really dislike what they did to the Nova Corps! The characters in Thor are great, but i really dislike both movies. I am a big fan of Tolkien and norse mythology and i was hoping for a very different tone and setting. The plane scene in TFA made no sense at all to me. And i felt like somebody had to die in AOU. Death is important to raise the stakes of the movies and make it so that not everything is fun and play.

@DurtyTalynt Yeah, Cap could have tried to turn around, land or just jump from that plane. I also didnt get how he got frozen for 70 years. And i hope Red Skull's random weird death means that he will return. Cant belive they killed Pietro, if someone had to die it should have been Hawkeye.
