My African "Black Panther" Movie Cast

My African "Black Panther" Movie Cast

My ideal supporting cast for the upcoming Chadwick Boseman lead "Black Panther" solo film. I chose a majority of African actors (and overall lesser used names) to ensure a more authentic feel for Wakanda.

FAMILY

edit. John Kani was cast as T'Chaka, so I have removed him from my fan cast.

Peter Mensah as S'Yan.
The Spartacus Ghanaian actor has the poise, authority and commanding screen presence necessary to bring T'Chaka to life.

6

Lupita Nyong'o as Shuri.
The Kenyan beauty bares an exceptional resemblance to Boseman and radiates the elegance of royalty. Should Shuri take a proactive role in the future sequels, it will be exciting to see another side of Nyong'o.

3

Iman as T'Chaka's first wife, N'Yami.

ramonda

Lynn Whitfield as T'Chaka's second wife, Queen Mother
The beautiful 62 year old actress still has a sharp edge and fire worthy of Ramonda, the Queen of Wakanda.

THE DORA MILAJE

7

Grace Jones as a lead / elder Dora Milaje.
The iconic 67 year old Jamaican actress will be able to bring the strength, intimidation, gravitas and wisedom of an elder experienced warrior, while still being in shape enough to throw down herself.

4

Danai Gurira as Nakia.
The Zimbabwean actress is formidable in her role in The Walking Dead that can be used should Nakia make a villainous turn (as Malice) in the future.

5

Cynthia Addai Robinson as Okoye.
The talented 31 year old Ghanaian actress, equipped with Navy Seals and New Zealand Special Forces training from her stint on Spartacus, has the magnestism of a loyal warrior. Addai-Robinson is capable of both a South African and West African accent.

LOVE INTEREST

monica-lyne

Nicole Beharie as Monica Lynne.
Like Monica, Beharie herself is a singer. She has proven to already have chemistry with Boseman, having worked opposite him in the 2013 movie "42" playing Jackie Robinson's wife Rachel Robinson.

ANTAGONISTS

754658-002

Barkhad Abdi as Zawavari.
In his Oscar nominated role in Captain Philips, Abdi has displayed a performance that could pose of a real threat to Black Panther.

Nonso-Anozie-as-R-M-Renfield-dracula-nbc-35486364-2248-3000

Nonso Anozie as Dr. Crocodile
Like N'Dingi, who was sent to England as a young man, the Nigerian actor is from London. The staquesque actor, standing at 6'6 ft tall, is someone even the King of Wakanda will have to look up at.

hmm...pretty good casting actually!

The only thing I would change is Lynn Whitfield

I think Sophie Okonedo would be a better choice...

What, no Denzel or Idris?

@Yaf - This is a fan casting of African actors. Idris is English and Denzel is American.

Why did you only choose african actors for these roles?! Are you saying only africans can play africans?! That's racist!

Too bad a lot of these people aren't African, but are British with parents from Africa.

@kong - too bad you are uneducated. Is an Asian American, Indian-Kenyan, or Chinese-Jamaican no longer Asian? Do you understand people in the world are either Asian, European, or African? Your genetics don't change just because you aren't born on your ancestral continent. Sad to see so many Colonized minds. I wonder do you tell an Asian not born in Asia they are no longer
asian? Or is it for your Euro Colonized Mind that has a inferior complex loaded with ignorance.

I saw that Grace Jones pic and thought-what the heck?? Then I remembered Grace Jones.

Though I still would like to see Idras Ilba as T'Chaka. Even though I know it wont work with how he universe is currently laid out.

Colin Salmon, Nicole behari, and Lynn Whitfield are NOT African. Yes They are black but you can be black and African or black and American/Britis. There is a big difference (language/culture). Other than that I agree with your choices for the cast.

@willishl - Please read the description. It says "Majority". The African actors have their country flag on the graphic.

@willishl - ignorance is bliss. They are
All African.
Do you tell an Asian born in America who runs China Town, they are no longer Asian? Or do you have some type of problem and want to egg on division created by your Oppressors? You need to learn the difference between genetics vs citizeship. How embarrassing that adults can be this delusional and uneducated.

I like most of these, especially Lupita, Danai, & Nicole. These are my picks for Ramonda & Syan though.

Jay123 - 9/26/2017, 2:50 AM
@Jaxim - go take a look at your European and Asian
Created projects. This is an AFRICAN movie. Africans are
BLACK.
Please learn the difference between genetics and citizenship.
We can't have anything.
Yuck
