Marvel Comics recently added Conan the Barbarian to its Universe, and next up is Predator. While the iconic aliens aren't currently expected to inhabit the same world as superheroes, the publisher has today unveiled some awesome variant covers featuring the extraterrestrial hunters battling heroes like Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.
Alien comics are also on the way, of course, and it would be pretty cool for an eventual crossover to include Xenomorphs, Predators, and some big name superheroes.
These covers feature work by Cory Smith, Superlog, Junggeun Yoon, Juan José Ryp, Mattia De Iulis, and Chris Sprouse.
The press release from Marvel states: "Since making its debut in the landmark 1987 film, the remorseless alien killer has invaded pop culture in film, comic books, video games, and more. Now, locked in combat with Marvel’s greatest heroes from Spider-Man to the Fantastic Four, the Predator begins a new conquest. Capturing the horrifying, unforgiving nature of Predator with classic Marvel Comics storytelling, these outstanding covers are sure to capture the imagination of both Marvel and Predator fans as they prepare for what’s next to come."
We're still waiting on official details about Marvel's Predator plans, but the Disney/Fox merger can be thanked for these iconic movie monsters getting their own titles under the Marvel Comics banner.
The Marvel Universe's Spider-Men, Spider-Woman, Fantastic Four, Valkyrie, and Guardians of the Galaxy are all highlighted on these variants which will start going on sale from this May onwards.
