SECRET EMPIRE: It's The Beginning Of The End For HYDRA-CAP As The Crossover Nears Its Conclusion

The road to Captain America's redemption was revealed in today's Secret Empire #9. With several of Hydra-Cap's allies switching sides, his reign over the Marvel Universe is coming to an end.

It turns out Kobik, the sentient Cosmic Cube in the service of the Red Skull  has been keeping an untarnished, evil-free version of Captain America inside its consciousness. That's right,  those fan theories that Kobik had re-written Steve Rogers' memories and altered reality itself were not too far off the mark.

However, there aren't two seperate, physical Steve Rogers (yet) as the one currently leading Hydra is in Cap's original body while the Rogers inside Kobik is currently nothing more than the memories of pre-Hydra Cap.

Still, with the familiar Captain America stored away inside Kobik's consciousness, it's only a matter of time before he breaks free and embarks on the Captain America redemption tour that kicks off in Captain America #695, when Mark Waid and Chris Samnee take over the title. Kobik has even went so far as to show the version of Captain America stored inside her memories what his evil doppelganger has been up to. Naturally, he begs to be set free but just before Kobik can do so, she's scared off by someone or something.

Hydra-Cap's reign will come to an end in Secret Empire #10, out  August 30th.  An extra issue, titled Secret Empire Omega, will also be released the following month on September 13.  Captain America #695 will then kick off the Waid and Samnee run on November 1.

Marvel Comics right now have DCEU level of storytelling while DC Comics have the MCU level of storytelling.

The thing that pisses me off about this event is that so many important things have happened outside of the main book. The Inhuman puking up a piece of the cosmic cube that the resistance used, Black Panther getting captured by Zemo, and whatever the hell happened between Cap and the Emma Frost on New Tian. You have to google half the shit you're reading about just to know what's happened.

How novel!
They're turning everything back to normal again.

Seriously, I hope their creativity returns to the regular issued comics.

Glad this stupid story is nearly over.

Still waiting on a proper explanation as to why Thor joined Hydra.

IMO, all the backlash and shit the actual Steve Rogers will get in upcoming storylines will be worthless and uninteresting because he had no power whatsoever, no decision in everything that happened. That is not real pathos.

I'm glad Secret Empire is over and Nick Spencer is off the book at least.

What DC has done to their movie universe, Marvel has done to their comics universe. What a mess.
