The art looks cool. I will give this run a shot.

Yeah this is why I don't like these massive changes in film. It carries over into the books. If you read the new run of moon knight, now they removed all ambiguity of khonsu being real or not and moon knight has the power to fight thor.

@Origame - not always sometimes it Carrie’s over to film as well

@Origame - I understand your point, but I think when you really examine it, the Comics influence thr films and TV show and then when it's realised in live action/animation they always find their way into the comics and the cycle continues, media influencing media. It's nothing new here. At least Marvel more or less own their majorities now.

@Origame - Eh, synergy has always been an annoying presence, but most of it goes back to status quo after a while (Like Spider-Man's organic webbing) and the stuff that doesn't people outside the medium just pretend that's how it has always been (Like Superman flying).

@Origame - at least that way You avoid writers not getting paid for coming up with new lore for the characters like Mr. Knight suit

@UniqNo - @Reeds2Much just to make this clear, my point is specifically on more massive changes that alter the character fundamentally. I didn't mind them making iron man more like RDJ because that was a pretty minor point in the books. But show moon knight was less like moon knight and more like Egyptian ghost rider, and that's basically all we're gonna get from him until future plans are done, which could be years. Shang chi is interesting because he can face superhuman challenges purely through martial arts skills, but now he's got these mystic bracelets he's never needed before that give him powers he's never needed. And we won't get that back until we're done with Shang chi movies.

Also, superman flying was a retcon out of laziness, not based on synergy with another medium. You're thinking of kryptonite.

@Origame - It was an artist's mistake, and he was back to leaping in the following issue. It was the Fleischer cartoon that first (well, second) made flying an actual part of his skillset, which ultimately lead to his being able to fly in the comics.

(Second because before either there was a radio serial where Superman flew as well. And came to Earth as an adult instead of as a child. And fought the KKK.)

Edit, to clarify: I just thumbed through the two issues in question. They both draw him in the air about the same, but issue 10 doesn't really narrate what he's doing so it looks like he's flying, while issue 11 goes out of it's way to say he's leaping from one place and falling to another.

It's a shame in the 90's we almost lost Marvel because the comics couldn't sell, now here we are and they're making mid level crap lol

Remember when comic books influenced the movies? Now it seems like comics are there to advertise the movies.

I don't like how the rings function. It should be like the original comics where each one gives the wearer a power. The way it works now looks silly.

The draw that Shang-chi had originally was that we was able to go toe to toe with some super heroes and villains due to his mastery of the martial arts. A normal human with his level of dedication and training could match and beat the super powered. Now he is just another powered person that also knows martial arts.

Shang-chi was great minus that suit he wore. Give him some badass martial arts master clothes.

@TheSuperMex -

Agreed. Wasn't a fan of the Western-style pants and Jordans (yes, I read the explanation as to why he wore them).

They keep trying with characters who’ve had successful movies like Shang Chi, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and even Iron Man but no matter what their comics just don’t sell.

They should have two separate comic book universes, like they have with the 616 and Ultimate universes.

Then if you want to read The MCU comics you can.

Its bad that they are calling The MCU Earth 616 when let's be honest it's not 616 comic book accurate.
