VENOMVERSE REBORN Comic Book Will Take SPIDER-MAN 2's Venom On A Multiversal Adventure

Marvel Comics has announced plans for Venomverse Reborn, a four-issue comic which will feature a host of Venom Variants, including the version from Insomniac Games' Spider-Man 2. Read on for details...

This June, we'll dive back into the darkness as the Venomverse is reborn with stories of symbiotes from all across the Multiverse. In this four-issue miniseries, Venomverse Reborn will see superstar creators put unique spins on the symbiote mythos and unleash bold developments on established symbiote heroes and villains.

Ranging from horror to fantasy and everything in between, Venomverse Reborn will offer something for every fan, with each jampacked issue framed by a pivotal new Venom story by current Venom scribe Al Ewing. He'll team up with artist Danilo S. Beyruth to lay the groundwork for the next symbiote epic, though what that entails remains to be seen.

In Venomverse Reborn #1, Benjamin Percy and Brian Level kick things off with a tale of the murder of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes by one of their own...but who? Then, Christos Gage drags the Venom from Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man 2 across the Venomverse to take on Knull.

That latter story is very intriguing as it opens the door to that Venom Variant embarking on more adventures than we saw in the video game sequel. It could even tie into Insomniac's plans for the rumoured Spider-Man: Venom spin-off.

In Venomverse Reborn #2, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and John McCrea bring a brutal take on Venom born in the age of Vikings. Then, from Adam Warren and Chriss Cross comes the return of the final biological life in his universe, the Venom of Venom: The End! Plus, Chris Giarrusso returns with a tale of Mini-Marvels Venom.

"I'm doing the framing sequence for these issues, and that means I get to see every one of these new symbiote sensations hit my inbox before anyone else outside editorial, and that's definitely a perk of the job," Ewing says. "As for what's in that framing story - if you've been a fan of some of the more cosmic aspects we've brought to Venom of late, you should be more than happy."

"But the beauty of an anthology series like this is that there's something to please everyone who dives into our lake of goo."

Why should we care when they completely ignored the spiderverse stuff in the games already?

@Origame - even without that I'm having a hard time finding a reason to care about a bunch of Venoms.
It's been done to death even without the multiverse angle.

Still, with that said, was that to be taken as that version exactly or something along the lines of a very similar variant? Something that alludes to it without affecting game canon.

@Slotherin - insomniac eventually explained it wasn't the actual insomniac spiderman. But that's my point.

Without it being in Canon to the games, it's literally just a venom variant. One that happens to be Harry Osborn instead of Eddie, and one who happens to look like one version of him. Why should we care?

@Origame - touché.
I'll raise you with this question:
Even if it is Insomniac Venom, why should we care?

@Slotherin - ok, I get that. Especially since I really didn't like how insomniac handled venom.

But I'm just saying even if you did like that venom, why would you care if they aren't gonna use it as part of Canon.

@Origame - I got what you were saying; I just can't resist dumping on this whole thing haha

So not so long ago we had End Of The Venomverse but now it's been Reborn.

Lame cash grab.

I know that the second game made references to the multiverse, I can wish they just kept the game universe seperate.

That Spider-Man showing up in the comic and movie Spider-Verse just felt so out of place to me, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised Venom was gonna be next.

@bkmeijer1 - what references?

@Slotherin - mostly the sidequest that had us collecting spider-bots that belong to different Spider-people from he multiverse.

@Origame - this feels interesting to note per what we just discussed.

@bkmeijer1 - did any of it suggest Spider-verse being canon to the game?

@Slotherin - Spider-verse is canon to the game. There was leaked DLC as well regarding the Spider-verse as to how Peter joins the Spider-Society.

@Slotherin - I'm guessing because of the ending of that mission (you can look it up, but I'm not spoiling it outright) it is.

The leaks and cancelled game do have confirmation, but I'm not considering it is canon as long as it isn't the game we're playing.

Marvel comics suck if it’s not Phoenix showing up every year it’s character verse , clones , variants time travel marvel do something new had enough character verse series see new character pop up never see them again after character verse ends
