WOLVERINE #50: Marvel Shares First Look At Benjamin Percy's Final Issue As Logan Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Marking the milestone 50th issue of writer Benjamin Percy's run and hitting stands during Wolverine's 50th anniversary year, next month's Wolverine #50 is billed as one of the character's most pivotal issues ever.

Now, in anticipation of this landmark issue hitting stands, you can check out never-before-seen artwork from each of the stories it includes.

Packed with bonus material, the giant-size issue presents the explosive final chapter of Percy, Victor LaValle, Geoff Shaw, and Cory Smith's 10-part epic "Sabretooth War" storyline. Plus, we'll get a story co-starring Jubilee from legendary Wolverine scribe Larry Hama and a special sneak peek at Wolverine's upcoming adventures in the "From the Ashes" era which relaunches the X-Men.

Having masterfully guided Logan over the last few years, Benjamin Percy will also bid farewell to the character in Wolverine #50. After closing out Wolverine's Krakoan age adventures in the main story, he'll then team up with artist Javi Fernández in a special send-off that explores Wolverine's incredible legacy on the page.

Talking about ending his run, Percy said, "Fifty issues of Wolverine is a hell of a lot to be thankful for. But the math gets hairier when I do some accounting. I've actually been writing Logan - in the audio drama, in X-Force and Wolverine and all the crossovers and spin-off events -- for seven years, twenty episodes, and a hundred thirty-ish issues."

"That’s a whole lot of SNIKT. That’s a big part of my life and career, and I feel nothing but gratitude for the experience," the writer added. "I can’t believe I’ve been lucky enough to serve as the custodian of a character who is so important to me. Thanks, bubs, for joining the mayhem."

Wolverine remains one of Marvel's most popular characters and we'd expect that to only increase in 2024 with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters this July.

Surprisingly, the character has taken a backseat in X-Men '97, though that may change in the weeks ahead. Back to the comics, and we're still waiting on news regarding who will take charge of the Wolverine relaunch.

The "Sabretooth War" concludes in the way it began - a violent, bloody battle - but who will be left standing? We'll find out next month, but in the meantime, you can get a sneak peek at what's to come below.

I am more shocked that the book reached 50 issues without being cancelled for a new number 1.

Sabretooths arm is the size of Wolvies whole entire body on that second cover. I know it’s supposed to give a 3D effect, but there’s no way that’s anatomically correct
