Cowboy Channel today announced the full broadcast schedule for the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge from December 1-10. This year's Cowboy Channel NFR broadcast will be presented by Mahindra and will feature the world's top 120 contestants in a 10-day competition to determine the winners of the coveted PRCA Gold Buckle and a share of the $10.9 million purse. The NFR will begin with Round 1 on Thursday, December 1 and will air exclusively on The Cowboy Channel, home of the NFR and official network of ProRodeo, for the third consecutive year with simulcast on RFD-TV, RURAL RADIO on Sirius XM 147. and live stream on PRCA on Cowboy Channel+. NFR hosts Jeff Medders and Butch Knowles will return to host the main broadcast with analysts Joe Beaver and Don Gay, plus behind-the-ramps reporters Amy Wilson and Janie Johnson with special analytical reports from Steve Kenyon.
Plus the live Wrangler National Finals Rodeo at 5:45 p.m. Pacific Time for all ten nights, The Cowboy Channel will also broadcast more than 10 hours each day live from around Las Vegas. Each morning, the Western Sports Round-Up will air live at 9:00 a.m. PT from Resorts World Wrangler Dawg House with Steve Kenyon and Ty McCleary, where the duo will recap the previous night's NFR action and will interview the round winners in one session. Calm environment and learn about what's happening in Las Vegas while looking ahead to what's happening that day.
The afternoon programming then moves from the Las Vegas Strip to the Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas live from inside the Las Vegas Convention Center with Outside the Barrel at 12:30 p.m. m. PT, featuring legendary funnyman and host Flint Rasmussen, followed by the NFR Tailgate Party with host Katy. Lucas and Fanchon Stinger starting at 1:30 p.m. PT. The NFR Tailgate Party will cover all things Western fashion and shopping along with a daily Rodeo Deep Dive with Amy Wilson panel discussion featuring current and former rodeo champions, legends, industry leaders and more.
Then it's time to open the doors at Thomas & Mack at the Cowboy Channel Bar at Aces High for The Cowboy Channel's NFR pre-show with Justin McKee and 26X World Champion Trevor Brazile at 5:00 pm PT, where the popular co-hosts will break down last night's performances, examine changes in the world rankings, and preview the NFR round ahead. Then at 5:45 p.m. (PT), the famous yellow slides will open with non-stop coverage of the opening ceremonies and grand entrance of the Wrangler NFR, followed by the ten most exciting rounds of the best ProRodeo competition of the year.
After the dust settles after each round of the 2023 Wrangler NFR, we return to the Resorts World Wrangler Dawg House for a recap of the day and night with Justin McKee, Ty McCleary and Katy Lucas. Each night, The Cowboy Channel's 10+ hours of broadcast will end with the SouthPoint Buckle performance live from the SouthPoint Hotel, where winners of the nightly round will receive their Montana Silversmith buckles.
