After the release of the first teaser poster Jon Favreau talks about what the feel of the upcoming trailer will be like:

“what I like about it as a filmmaker, is that it feels like they are selling the same movie that we’re making.” He goes on to say that this trailer encapsulates “the tone of the first act of the movie, and as we get deeper, and as more trailers come out – more will be revealed.”

Official synopsis for Cowboys & Aliens:

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

Cowboys & Aliens Hits theaters July 29, 2011 directed by Jon Favreau and stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer, Keith Carradine, Clancy Brown, Ana de la Reguera, and Abigail Spencer

The footage they showed off at Comic-Con was pretty sweet. Some funny bits, but overall it had a really dark and gritty feel.

The scene where the aliens attacked was awesome. Apparently ILM had rushed some effects so they could show it off at Comic-Con, so it wasn't completed, but it was still very cool.

The gadget around Daniel Craig's wrist is also very intriguing. He took down a saucer with one blast from his gauntlet.

I never even heard of this comic until cbm. It is sounding like it could be a really fun movie. Hopefully it will surprise me like District 9 did.

HelaGood- Guess you could say that. I'm not a huge cowboy fan nor am i of aliens on their own either. It really all depends on how it's done. To tell you the truth, the mix of both concepts off the bat seems like the worst idea i ever heard of. So yeah, a trailor is manditory ;)
