Arrowverse Boss Greg Berlanti May Be Among Those Eyed To Take On Kevin Feige-Like Role For DC FILMS

Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a Kevin Feige-like executive to oversee the DC Extended Universe moving forward, and among the names being considered are Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti. Check it out!

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav supposedly wants to find his own Kevin Feige to oversee the DC Extended Universe. Up until now, that's (kind of) been Walter Hamada's job, though it's clear someone with a greater creative vision is needed to deliver a cohesive shared world that can find the same sort of success as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Variety has shed some light on the potential candidates, and it appears as if Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti is a top contender. As well as overseeing shows like Arrow and The Flash, he's working on the Green Lantern TV series that's described by the trade as "the biggest, most ambitious DC adaptation ever mounted by the prolific producer."

While he hasn't been pursued by Warner Bros. yet, insiders believe he probably wouldn't be interested in going in-house. Berlanti is also likely to be unhappy about both Wonder Twins and Strange Adventures being scrapped.

The LEGO Movie and Sherlock Holmes producer Dan Lin is another possibility, but commitments to his production company, Rideback, and a deal with Universal Pictures make it unlikely. Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are still overseeing DC Films for Warner Bros. and may want Hamada to remain in his current position given the successes he's found.

However, he's incredibly unhappy about Batgirl being scrapped and there are those within the studio who feel not enough was done to protect him after Ray Fisher's Justice League comments led to Hamada receiving death threats.

As for De Luca, he has actually won a lot of fans at Warner Bros. after "[demonstrating] his fanboy bona fides in meetings and [impressing] people at DC with his knowledge of comic book arcana."

Making the job a tough sell is the fact that whoever oversees the DCEU won't have the sort of freedom and power Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige does. Any decisions they make will have to go up the long studio chain, and whether someone can successfully work in that environment remains to be seen.

Who do you think should take charge of the DCEU?
