Initial 2011 Design:

This was the very first image I painted for the Deadpool movie in 2011. Tim (Miller) was just approached to direct and it was a rare slow work day at Blur. I was thinking about how enraging that Wolverine movie was and I thought it would be funny to paint over one of their promo photos. I believe Tim used this in one of his initial pitch packages for Fox..

Final "Test Footage" Costume Design:

The FINAL Design! ..it's pretty astounding to me that Tim wanted to use the same design, the only design I came up with, for the test footage. The difference between this final design and our test footage design were mainly proportional. We made sure the torso and shoulders were a little more in line with Ryan's proportions. Also, you can see the details on the boots and shin pads are more flush with his legs. That was something Ryan specifically requested.

Costume Design Materials:

As I was designing the translation of the suit I was constantly looking up images for material reference that I could pass on to the modeler. Alessandro Baldasseroni created the awesome CG model for the test footage and was very patient with my many pestering PaintOvers of the gray model renders.

Initial Negasonic Teenage Warhead Costume Design:

Final Negasonic Teenage Warhead Costume Design:

It turns out I was going overboard with the goth look for NTW and Tim wanted us to do a pass of her in a suit close to what Josh Middleton designed for his New Mutant covers. Then the costume department would put together something over the suit to give her the goth look. I've learned over the years that some directors care about the source material, and you can guess which ones don't. Fun Fact: Tim goes to the comic store just about every week and leaves with a PILE of comics!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

It would be awesome if they gave Miller and Co. hold of the X-universe and use DP as the center of the rebuilding of the XU like how Iron man is basically the starting/center point of the MCU

Oh, and the quote from above " I've learned over the years that some directors care about the source material, and you can guess which ones don't "...Is that a hidden dig at Singer?...cuz if it is that is honestly the best quote ever!

Why cant FOX see that?
