DEADPOOL 3 Now Rumored To Feature An Appearance From BLADE, But Which Variant Will We See?

Work on Deadpool 3 won't resume until the SAG-AFTRA strike ends, but that hasn't stopped the rumour mill from churning. The latest claims Blade will appear, but will we see Mahershala Ali or Wesley Snipes?

Even if only half the rumours are true, Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded MCU movies ever made. As the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine traverse the Multiverse, we're expecting to see a host of familiar faces from the past before the unlikely allies end up stranded on Earth-616 in time for the next Avengers movies.

Will Blade be among the many Multiversal cameos we're expecting to see? If scooper Daniel Richtman is to be believed, apparently so!

He admits to not knowing whether it will be Mahershala Ali or Wesley Snipes who show up in the threequel, though we'd say the latter is more likely. The upcoming Blade reboot is seemingly in a state of disarray and with Ali rumoured to have considered walking away from the role, it's doubtful Deadpool 3 will be used to set the stage for the Daywalker's MCU future.

So, that leaves us with Snipes.

It's no secret that the actor wasn't exactly a pleasure to work with on the set of 2004's Blade: Trinity. Based on what we've heard, Ryan Reynolds was left baffled by Snipes' after they shared the screen as Hannibal King and Blade, respectively, though almost two decades have passed since then.

Last year, Reynolds said he had the "utmost respect" for Snipes' method acting, but acknowledged that he "never met Wesley, I only met Blade." Assuming there are no hard feelings there, is the door open to Snipes being given the chance to bid farewell to perhaps his most famous role? We'd say it's likely.

It would be wise to keep expectations in check for now, especially as it feels like many scoopers are just naming anyone and everyone from past Marvel movies simply because it's likely they'll make an appearance. Still, Blade, Deadpool, and potentially Wolverine all sharing the screen at some point is an incredibly exciting prospect.

Alongside Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all set to return in this threequel.

Emma Corrin is expected to play Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen will likely take on the role of a TVA agent named Paradox. It's also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Liev Schreiber, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, singer Taylor Swift (potentially as Dazzler), and even Loki's Owen Wilson expected to appear.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.
