Reports have been doing the rounds online that filming is expected to commence on Deadpool 3 at some point this week, and actor Stefan Kapicic has now confirmed that cameras are indeed rolling on the R-rated Marvel Studios threequel.
In a now-deleted Instagram stories post, Kapicic, who will return as metal mutant Colossus, revealed that production is "officially" underway.
Since they've been so active on social media in the build-up, we were hoping that Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) or director Shawn Levy would make some kind of announcement once shooting began, but the day is young!
The movie is reportedly filming under the working title "Tidal Wave."
Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), whose roles are still under wraps.
Still no official word on Cable (Josh Brolin) or Domino (Zazie Beetz).
Plot details also remain a mystery for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent rumor claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved.
We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.
Shawn Levy will direct Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
