DEADPOOL 3: Evidence Mounts That LOKI Star Owen Wilson Will Return As Mobius In Upcoming Threequel

Rumours have swirled for months that Owen Wilson will reprise his Loki role as Mobius M. Mobius in Deadpool 3, but a photo of the actor in London has added further fuel to the fire. Read on for details...

There have been rumblings for several months that Deadpool 3 will feature Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, suggesting the Time Variance Authority will be front and centre in an adventure sending the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine on a trip through the Multiverse.

We're assuming the movie will end with one or both characters stranded in the MCU, setting the stage for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and its eventual follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars

Now, many fans believe Wilson's role in the Deadpool 3 has been confirmed after the actor was recently spotted in London.

Cameras are still rolling on the movie there - despite claims production has wrapped - and photos have shown both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are still in The Big Smoke (sadly not in costume as their respective Marvel characters). Wilson may be working on something else, of course, but Deadpool 3 seems likely.

We'll have to wait and see, but after rumours that Tara Strong will reprise her role as Miss Minutes, we're guessing we'll see either an alternate version of the TVA or catch up with Mobius before the events of Loki's first season.

Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all also set to return alongside Reynolds in the threequel.

Emma Corrin has also signed up as a mystery character, while we also recently learned that Matthew Macfadyen will likely play a TVA agent named Paradox in the movie.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.

This is more interesting to me than Jackman's final appearance. LOKI was a great show and Marvel can do some course correcting and redefining starting here. I wouldn't even be opposed to wilson turning heel and making him Kang. He was Kang all along.
Wowwwwwwww......

I don't know how excited I am about the larger MCU playing a significant part in this movie. I hope it's kept minimal.

@Fares - main point of this movie is about incorporating Deadpool into the MCU... so it's unlikely
Fares
Fares - 7/2/2023, 1:17 PM
@Urubrodi - Yeah that's what I'm trying to come to terms with. I hope that at least the Deadpool corner of the larger world remains unique and not so homogenous with everything else.

@Fares - Here's my take, FWIW: Deadpool is one of the larger, so far consistently bankable properties that Disney (now) owns, so they're not going to f**k with it, hence the R rating. This kind of necessitates that he stay in his own little corner of the MCU, and when he is brought into wider projects (like "A: KD" or (more likely) "A:SW"), there will be plenty of jokes about how he can't swear and do other R-rated things, which will further justify why he more or less stays in his own corner where Marvel leaves him alone and let's him do his own thing. It's a very meta approach, but I think it could work. Almost like DP is in charge of the "Marvel R-rated" division of the MCU and as long as Marvel leaves him alone to do what he wants in that space he'll behave himself when he has to interact with the wider MCU. More or less.

As far as this movie goes, everything that I've seen so far leads me to believe that the vast majority of it will take place outside of the MCU proper, probably until later in the third act. If you look at the cast list so far, everyone except for Mobius is from the FoX-Men universe, so I expect a lot of it to take place there, especially if those OG X-Men casting rumors are true. If I had to take a stab at the plot, I'd say that the first act takes place in the Fox-Men universe, the second act is the Multiversal roadtripping, which leads to the TVA coming in in the third act to try to fix whatever DP and Wolvie have broken, which will likely end with Wolvie being sent back to the FoX-Men universe (where he can do "Logan") and DP left stranded in the MCU.

If this is what actually happens, I think. that it would be SUPER funny if DP and Logan start off the movie absolutely hating each other, but by the time they have to go their separate ways there's like an overly emotional good-bye (although that would probably go against Logan's character but it would still be funny - and, hey, he did have a soft spot for some of his teammates like Rogue, Jean, Prof. X and X-23, so...).
Fares
Fares - 7/2/2023, 7:44 PM
@StSteven - That philosophy could certainly work given that it's executed adequately. And concerning the ending you propose, I can see Logan trying to hide his feelings when it comes time to say good bye, and they can make jokes about that.
StSteven
StSteven - 7/3/2023, 8:13 PM
@Fares - Yeah, considering how much affection that DP has shown for Logan so far I can totally (seriously) see it starting off as:

DP: "Oh my God! It's you! It's really really you!! I LOVE you man! Oh my God!!!"
Logan: "Yeah, f**k off bub"

And by the end of the movie:
DP: "Okay, well I guess this is goodbye so... bring it in for a hug?"
Logan: "Yeah, okay, sure, why not?"

And then DP squeezes Logan's ass while hugging him. Cut. Print. Marvel send me money. 😊

The whole connected universe aspect is the weakest part of Deadpool 3 at the moment. Why can't it just be Deadpool having a rivalry with Wolverine, some comedic banter and then teaming up to take down a villain.

Why over-complicate it and shove in a bunch of multiverse and MCU crap that is just going to drag it down?

@Scarilian - It’s a good thing you aren’t making this film then.

@Killuminatic -
Yeah... because focusing on what the fans have wanted and delivering on what was promised to them as opposed to trying to use it as a vehicle to peddle a failed multiverse story-line nobody is invested is a bad thing? lol. The insanity on this site is palpable.

@TheNewYorker - why anyone would care that a good character will show up in a very hyped up movie? who knows... beats me

@Urubrodi - “good” is subjective. You might've found that character good but I sure as hell don’t.

@TheNewYorker - Well you did say "why ANYONE would care". Here is "anyone" giving you a reason why they care. But instead of actually "trying to understand" them you immediately poo poo it. Doesn't sound like you're trying to understand anything but just want to throw in your negativity...

@TheHumanSpider2 - made within 2 months and with the writings on strike for the majority, this movie is gonna stink worse than The Flash
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 7/2/2023, 12:14 PM
@Cap1 - I'm curious about the budget, previous two movies were cheap, but I wouldnt be surprised if Disney threw another $250M on this.
Cap1
Cap1 - 7/2/2023, 12:16 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - if all the cameos are true, which would need huge paycheques, then yeah I'd go 250mil+, never mind reshoots. I'd say final may be over 300mil
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 7/2/2023, 12:30 PM
@Cap1 - Hugh turned down $50M in 2014 to come back after Logan, I dont see him coming back for much less...and we know Reynolds isnt cheap...
Urubrodi
Urubrodi - 7/2/2023, 12:35 PM
@Cap1 - they would actually need to put effort into making this movie worse than The Flash
Cap1
Cap1 - 7/2/2023, 12:35 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - yeah exactly. It’ll make a lot of money im sure even if it’s shit, so I doubt they mind throwing a shit ton at it

You know they have to make it more integral to the overarching multiverse narrative now, especially since no one is apparently watching marvels other movies or shows to know what’s happening but the time Kang Dynasty comes around.
