DEADPOOL 3: Hugh Jackman And Ryan Reynolds Reunite As They Wait To Resume Work On Marvel Studios Threequel

Work on Deadpool 3 halted due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and filmmaker Shawn Levy has shared a photo of himself alongside Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as they wait for filming to commence...

After ten weeks, it appears the WGA strike is nearing its end. Deadpool 3 stopped shooting shortly after that began, primarily because Marvel Studios frequently continues writing and rewriting its movies while cameras are rolling (the SAG-AFTRA strike later brought filming to a complete standstill).

As a result, we don't know whether the threequel will meet its May 2024 release date as planned. Filmmaker Shawn Levy has confirmed they were roughly halfway through production, meaning the clock is ticking. It's also worth noting that time will be needed for additional photography.

The director - who is rumoured to be among those being eyed to helm Avengers: Secret Wars - recently took to his Instagram stories to reveal he's reunited with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman while the "three amigos" wait for filming to resume.

Both actors have already donated millions of dollars to the strikes and fully support them. However, it's easy enough to understand why they're anxious to get back to work, especially on a team-up which has literally been decades in the making!

Both Deadpool and Wolverine look set to be a huge part of the Multiverse Saga over the next few years. Jackman is supposedly going to play the clawed mutant until at least Avengers: Secret Wars, with that movie serving as a passing of the torch for whoever next plays Logan in the MCU.

As for the Merc with the Mouth, we'd assume Reynolds has no intentions of hanging up his katanas and will continue playing the character for as long as possible.

Alongside Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all set to return in this threequel.

Emma Corrin is expected to play Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen will likely take on the role of a TVA agent named Paradox. It's also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Liev Schreiber, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen among the many names rumoured to appear.

Deadpool 3 is currently set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024. Check out Levy's photo in the Tweet/X below:

What he says about Major Franchises is so true “Because there are going to be generations now that think movies are only those – that’s what movies are. They already think that.” I have a friend who only goes to see CBM movies, wheras the rest of my group will see everything. Spoilers, his taste is movies in shit because he only watches CBM movies

@bobevanz - once a deal is made with the writers, that's basically gonna be the deal for the actors as well. It's why they're striking together.

@bobevanz - there have always been people with very narrow and bad tastes, this is nothing new, even if it is one of your friends.
