Deadpool 3 continues to get more and more intriguing, something that's evident from the set photos we saw earlier today featuring what appear to be pruned versions of now-overhauled MCU artefacts in The Void.
How Wolverine and Deadpool find themselves stranded there remains to be seen, though it's fair to say none of us expected to see X-Men's Sabretooth driving around in a pimped-out version of the Red Skull's elongated car from Captain America: The First Avenger! This movie is going to be wild.
Now, thanks to Dogpool's official Instagram account, we have a first official look at Ryan Reynolds' unmasked Wade Wilson alongside the adorable(?) pooch. Is that the same bar he spent time in across the first two Deadpool movies? It's hard to say but it's possible.
There's a great deal of secrecy surrounding this threequel and set photos have meant we've been treated to an early sneak peek of some pretty major cameos. However, if even half of what we've heard is true, then this barely scratches the surface of what's to come next summer.
In the comics, Dogpool is the canine counterpart to Deadpool and is known for his appearances in the Deadpool Corps series. Dogpool, whose real name is Wilson, hails from the "Marvel Dogverse," an alternate reality populated by anthropomorphic versions of Marvel characters.
Originally a regular dog experimented on by the same program that created Deadpool, Wilson gains similar regenerative abilities and heightened intelligence. Like Deadpool, he possesses a quirky and humorous personality, often breaking the fourth wall. His adventures involve absurd and comedic situations, and he is a member of the Deadpool Corps, a team comprised of Deadpool variants (whether they'll appear in this movie remains to be seen).
Alongside Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all set to return in this threequel.
Emma Corrin is expected to play Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen will likely take on the role of a TVA agent named Paradox. It's also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, and even singer Taylor Swift among those rumoured to appear.
Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
