Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting movies in the entire Multiverse Saga, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's team-up as Wade Wilson and Wolverine an unbelievably exciting prospect.
In addition to that, there have already been rumblings that Loki star Owen Wilson will return as Mobius, a strong hint we should expect the two heroes to take a trip through the Multiverse. Throw in rumours about the cast of 2005 and 2007's Fantastic Four movies making an appearance, and it could well be a truly epic farewell to Fox's Marvel Universe.
Now, scooper DanielRPK (via CBR) has shared more possible details about the threequel, including intel on Deadpool 3's big bad.
Apparently, Marvel Studios is in the midst of casting a "female villain" who is in their 30s, 40s, or 50s. They will be the "lead" adversary to both Deadpool and Wolverine, though your guess is as good as ours when it comes to which character this is in reference to. After all, the movie has access to both all the Fox characters and those who call the MCU home.
It's also said that Deadpool 3 is looking to cast a male BIPOC lead who must be a "strong actor" with a possible comedy background. They'll be sharing scenes with Reynolds and Jackman.
This casting news comes just days after it was reported that Reynolds is looking to bring Channing Tatum into the project, possibly giving the actor his chance to finally play Gambit.
Needless to say, any details like this should be taken with a pinch of salt for now, but it's certainly beginning to sound like this movie is much grander in scale than it would have been at Fox (Reynolds previously described that as a road trip featuring Deadpool and Wolverine).
Throwing the Multiverse into the mix makes perfect sense, though, especially if the movie is going to end with Wade Wilson stranded in his new home, the MCU.
Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.
