On the heels of today's new trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine, we have a very interesting rumor relating to two characters who are expected to appear in the Merc with a Mouth's MCU debut.

Though these particular cameos haven't been confirmed, be aware of potential spoilers from this point on.

Daniel Richtman is reporting that Laura/X-23 (Dafne Keen) and Gambit (Channing Tatum) will show up in the threequel, but for more than just brief cameos. According to the insider, both characters will have a larger presence in the movie than previous rumors have indicated.

We don't expect them to play too significant a role in the story, but it sounds like they will show up for more than just one scene.

Keen played X-23 in James Mangold's Logan, and was supposed to reprise the role before plans changed due to Disney's acquisition of Fox. Tatum never actually got the chance to suit-up the "Ragin' Cajun," but came very close to leading a now defunct solo Gambit movie.

The trailers have revealed that quite a few other characters from the Fox era will factor into the plot, but we've been assured that there are still plenty of surprises in store.

A 9-minute preview of the movie screened at CinemaCon last week, and you can check out a breakdown below.

"Wade is captured by the TVA. He wakes up in an office with Matthew MacFadyen's character. He tells Deadpool that he has been chosen for a special mission to save the sacred timeline. Footage of Chris Evans' Captain America is shown and Deadpool salutes him. He sees a clip of Chris Hemsworth as Thor crying over his body. 'That happens in the distant future,' Macfadyen tells him. "'I am Marvel Jesus,'" Deadpool proclaims. He addresses the camera and says, 'Suck it Fox, I’m going to Disneyland. Get f*cked.' The footage ends with Deadpool getting a new super suit."

Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), who will play a TV agent and Cassandra Nova (not confirmed).

A recent synopsis for the movie reads: "After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis, Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy."

Shawn Levy directs Deadpool and Wolverine from a script by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.

The movie is set to open in U.S. & Canadian theaters on July 26, and will be available in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD and premium screens everywhere.

If we are talking about a comic accurate Gambit, bring it on ! And Dafne Keen was one of the highlights in Logan, its going to be nice to see more of her character

I grew to like Tatum since 21 Jump Street but I still am unsure about him as Gambit.

I do thinkhim showing up is very likely since he was in Free Guy which was another Reynolds & Levy collaboration so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is in the movie & thus would be intrigued to finally see his take on the character (unless it’s exaggerated for comedic effect)…

It could be a fun though and hope if he’s finally gotten the chance to play the character that he does it well!!.

And i cant help but think that those exposed arm version of the wolverine costume is just a response to fan feedback after the first images appeared.

As much as i appreciate listening to fan feedback, if true, it shows how much "adhoc" the writing of marvel movies are

Whelp, get ready for the dissection of every single frame of this trailer, in order to produce unconfirmed spoilers. To me that’s the worst part of a new comic book related movie coming out.

@WruceBayne - AGREED. Over analyzing trailers and essentially turning them into flat-pack furniture instructions. Each to their own, but try to remember that it's a movie not a puzzle to be solved.

X-23 is ok. Would have been better if it was Prime Logan from the Foxverse. I'm not sure I really care about just having her to have her. Same with Tatum. Who really cares? He never played the character. I actually thought the actor from Wolverine origins was decent with what they gave him.

@AvalonX - "I'm not sure I really care about just having her to have her." Whole point of this article is to say that both are not gonna be there just to be there and will have expanded roles.

"both characters will have a larger presence in the movie than previous rumors have indicated.

"We don't expect them to play too significant a role in the story, but it sounds like they will show up for more than just one scene."

This is rumor not fact and by the way the article is written, more than one seen is a "larger". The article then says, we dont expect them to play too significant role in the story.

Rumor also says they have more than one actor coming to play X-23 which would in fact have her be there, just to be there. Maybe the two of you should learn to read...
