Coming out of CinemaCon, it seems a new synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine has surfaced, which is a slight update from a previous, rumored version.
It reads, "After some professional disappointments and an ongoing midlife crisis, Wade Wilson now sells used cars. He’s completely hung up his boots until his family, friends, and whole world are threatened."
"With everyone he loves at risk, DP teams up with a reluctant Wolverine to fight for their survival and ultimately, their legacy."
The new synopsis comes courtesy of the recently unveiled, official concept art book for the film, Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine: The Art of the Movie.
Elsewhere, Entertainment Tonight managed to snag an interview with Shawn Levy at CinemaCon, where they asked the director about those persistent Taylor Swift rumors.
Levy responded, "I can't even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can't answer. You know I can't answer. All of America knows I can't answer that."
"I will say as I said earlier here at CinemaCon. The proliferation of rumors about who is and isn't in this movie is fabulous. Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26th."
As promo art for the film has revealed, there will be several Variants of Deadpool in the film that may form a Deadpool Corps. of sorts. One of the members that has been prominently featured is Lady Deadpool, which rumors speculate will be played by Taylor Swift.
While promo art of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine wearing the hero's familiar mask/cowl has previously surfaced, Marvel seems to be reserving the reveal of actual footage of the moment (something X-Men fans have been waiting a long time for) for the theaters...at least for now.
The footage shown at CinemaCon seemed to be an extension of the teaser trailer released for Super Bowl LVIII, do Marvel Studios appears to be keeping their cards close to their chest in terms of revealing surprises and cameos.
It will be interesting to see if they can resist their usual marketing tactics of nearly spoiling the entire film as we draw closer to the pic's July release.
The cast of Deadpool & Wolverine features Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Karam Soni as Dopinder, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Rob Delaney as Peter, Jennifer Garner as Elektra.
Shawn Levy is directing from a script he co-wrote with Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.
Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in North American theaters on July 26, 2024.
