"Do not be fooled by its commonplace appearance. Like so many things, it is not what is outside, but what is inside that counts. This is no ordinary lamp! It once changed the course of a young man's life; a young man who, like this lamp, was more than what he seemed: a diamond in the rough. Perhaps you would like to hear the tale? It begins on a dark night, where a dark man waits... with a dark purpose."

The first enchanting teaser trailer for Disney's live-action Aladdin remake has officially arrived and while it's unsurprisingly light on action, we do get a brief glimpse at the "diamond in the rough" entering the Cave of Wonders to discover the most magical of lamps.

Unfortunately, that is where it cuts out, but it's still a pretty cool sight and should tide over fans nonetheless until the House of Mouse is ready to share something more substantial from the Guy Ritchie-directed features, which stars Mena Massoud (Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers), Will Smith (Gemini Man), Marwan Kenzari (The Mummy), Navid Negahban (Legion), Nasim Pedrad (New Girl), Billy Magnussen (Game Night), and Numan Acar (Spider-Man: Far From Home).

“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”

Aladdin features:
Director: Guy Ritchie
Mena Massoud as Aladdin
Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine
Will Smith as Genie
Marwan Kenzari as Jafar
Navid Negahban as The Sultan
Nasim Pedrad as Dalia
Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders
Numan Acar as Hakim

Aladdin hits theaters on May 24, 2019

Dang, wish it wasn't just a teaser trailer. If there's anyone who can remaster the charm and comedy Robin Williams brought to the Genie... It's Will.
