someone tell me if im wrong here. when i first heard of this i was probably just like everyone else, thought it was a perfect fit and couldn't wait to see it. but the more and more i watch the trailers the more i think the 'fit' might be a little too perfect for my preferences.

Hear me out:
I've seen all of Burton's movies save for maybe one or two. i've seen alice in wonderland, i know the story as well as the average film fan. so, factoring in those two things, can't i just close my eyes and take it from there? why do i need to pay $9.50 to watch this?

what is Burton going to offer me that i haven't seen before? FROM THE LOOKS OF IT (because, alice and burton lovers, thats all i have to go on:)) it seems Burton has just recycled both the scenery and johnny depps performance from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and the preformace of helena bonham carter from every movie she's ever been in. im not saying it's bad, im just saying - been there done that. and maybe you just have to see it in 3D but the animation looks like it does not match up well with the live action. going off the trialers i'd say "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" did a better job of incorporating the two.

Every time i see a preview for this movie i get less and less enthused. where i started out completlely stoked for it, it's losing steam fast and steady in MY eyes.

any doubters? think of the other re-makes Burton has attempted. Planet of the Apes. yes that happened. and CATCF. depp was a good wonka but still if offered nothing new.

i'll wait for the reviews on this one before i step into a theatre. but im 95% sure i'll be proven right.
