It's been twenty years since the first Toy Story came out. Since then, the folks at Pixar studios have created a hugely impressive string of beautiful, moving animated stories (and Cars 2). The latest teaser for their next adventure The Good Dinosaur brings the nostalgia and the feels with a touching callback to some of our favorite Pixar pairings - before introducing a friendship for the future (or past - depending on which way you look at it...) in the form of Arlo & Spot.
Yes, it's a sneaky marketing ploy, but it's also an unbearably heartwarming one. Regardless, it sounds like Disney/Pixar are doing things right with this movie. According to a new report, it's not only tracking as a box office success, but it may also outperform 2015 stablemate Inside Out. The latter debuted to stellar reviews this summer, so it'll be interesting to see if the studio can keep up this recent run of form, after a few hiccups (I'm *still* looking at you Cars 2).
You can check out the teaser below, and be sure to sound off with your thoughts on it below. Let us know what your favorite Pixar friendship is in the comments as well!
The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
The Good Dinosaur hits theatres November 25.
