For those hoping the spirit of the original show would be maintained in Disney XD's upcoming reboot of the animated series Ducktales, which itself was adapted from the popular Carl Banks comics featuring Uncle Scrooge McDuck, then hopefully the latest news on the show will answer any questions you have. This is because Disney XD has released six clips showcasing the new cast in their latest incarnation, as well as the opening sequence for the new show, which retains a tune fans may find very familiar.

The series will debut in a one-hour movie on August 12th, airing in a straight loop for 24 hours that entire day, later followed by a regular series release starting September 23rd.

There's also this older video, which revealed the new cast of the show, including Marvel's Jessica Jones star David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck.

What do you think of these previews? Does this live up to the expectations of versions past? Does it seem cheap cash grab for the sake of nostalgia, and fall short? Is life really like a hurricane? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, Disney XD's animated comedy-adventure series "DuckTales" chronicles the high-flying adventures of Duckburg's most famous trillionaire Scrooge McDuck, his mischief-making triplet grandnephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, temperamental nephew Donald Duck and the trusted McDuck Manor team: big-hearted, fearless chauffer/pilot Launchpad McQuack, no-nonsense housekeeper Mrs. Beakley and Mrs. Beakley's granddaughter, Webby Vanderquack, resident adventurer and the triplet's newfound fierce friend.

I wish I grew up with this show, but instead I'm more familiar with Quack Pack than this. I did at least know about Goof Troop though.

When will these people learn that you cannot recreate the 90s cartoon era. These remakes are never any good.

@billnye69 - this one looks pretty good, I don know if its as good as the original, I never saw the original, when it comes to 90's cartoons I proffer the DCAU and the Speilberg created cartoons like Animaniacs. and the cartoon network stuff.

The girl seems like a cross between Dipper and Mabel from Gravity Falls, now that was a great show, for years I have been saying that kids don't have good shows anymore, and that the best stuff came out during the 90's and 2000's, but it showed me that every once in a while good stuff still comes out. The girls clip made me think of this

Hopefully this will do well and Disney will bring back other Disney cartoons from the 90s. I'd enjoy seeing a new Tale Spin and Gargoyles.

@BlackIceJoe - the next obvious choice for a reboot would be Darkwing Duck

Loved the originals as a kid. The old Uncle Scrooge adventure comics got me into comic books. I'll probably check it out

As a side note, those same comics are what partly inspired George Lucas's ideas for Indiana Jones

The original was one of my absolute favourite cartoons back in the day. As someone who was very unsure about them bringing it back I think this looks and sounds really, really promising! :)

Are we not getting the Scientifically Accurate Ducktale?

I think posting that one would be instabanned..

Fail. It will get cancelled just like Thundercats, like the first "40" Voltron remakes and every Transformer sequel series other than Beast Wars. At least they were smart enough to keep the spirit of the theme song, but now it just looks like complete insanity. A time machine just sitting in Scrooge's mansion? WTF? I guess every bad guy in the world will just be trying to steal that, instead of his Number One Dime, or raiding the Money Bin.

But I'm not a kid anymore, so maybe the new kids will like it.
