Fourteen years after the original gem, Johnny Depp's beloved Captain Jack Sparrow is back for his fifth swashbuckling adventure in Walt Disney Studios' Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
While a few of the previews have billed the feature as Captain Jack's final adventure, co-director Joachim Rønning recently, in an interview with CinemaBlend, gave fans new hope that a sixth installment could almost definitely still happen. "It's difficult to ever know. I think that there's always... this is the beginning of the finale. It depends on how you look at it. But I never take anything for granted, and I love the franchise. These kinds of movies, they remind me of the kind of movies I grew up with, those kind of adventure movies that made me want to become a filmmaker. So for me to be able to be a part of this and direct a Pirates of the Caribbean is a dream come true. But I don't know if it's the last one, or if they'll make another ten of them. I don't know! But I hope so!"
Many who have seen it at CinemaCon and during the world premiere have already dubbed it the second best in the entire franchise, so while not a certainty, it's likely the first batch of reviews will be on the more positive side when they release next week, which should bode well for its box office chances. As for the early tracking numbers, it's projected for a near $100 million opening over the course of the Memorial Day weekend and is expected to do even better overseas, which should put it on course to become another potential billion-dollar earner for the House of Mouse.

Plus, here are two new TV spots:

Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
