In order to make the Disney+ streaming service as desirable as possible to consumers who already subscribe to the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime, Disney is bringing a lot of big projects to the platform. Among them is a live-action Lady and the Tramp movie that, in any other era, would be released as a movie in theaters.

Now, with just hours to go before the Disney+ panel at D23, the first official poster for the movie has been revealed, and for fans of the animated classic, this imagery will be instantly familiar.

Unlike The Lion King, the movie's dogs are set to be played by real animals with VFX presumably only used to portray them talking.

Played by Justin Theroux and Tessa Thompson, Lady and the Tramp will be joined by Janelle Monae as Peg, Sam Elliot as Trusty, Benedict Wong as Bull, and Ashley Jensen as a female version of Jack. On the human side of things, Kiersey Clemons and Thomas Mann will play the Dear family, while Yvette Nicole Brown has been cast as Aunt Sarah.

Trying to portray cartoon animals in live action is a dice roll. I've sort of lost interest in the concept for now.

Uh oh.. twitter won't be happy these dogs are being fed pasta:

Pasta sauces are usually acidic, and contain a lot of sugar and salt, all of which can upset your dog's tummy. Also, keep in mind that some dogs are allergic to wheat!!! Animal cruelty of the highest order. Get your digital pitchforks out people

The original animated "Lady and the Tramp" was the first movie my parents ever took me to see. We went to a drive-in theater, and I stood on the front seat between my mom and dad. My dad tells the story often: about five minutes into the picture, I turned to him and said, "Daddy, them dogs are talkin'!"

Yay! Another pointless remake that will be infinitely worse than the original
