Last month, Disney released the trailer for it's next big animated fantasy musical, Moana. It received a lot of positive attention, due to it's animation, music, and, of course, Dwayne Johnson. Now, an international trailer has been released, and it seems a bit different from the one we got over here. While the first half of that trailer focused on the comedy of Dwayne Johnson's character, Maui. The entirety of this trailer focuses on the childhood, of the film's main character, Moana. Except with an interesting new detail... The Ocean is alive and is a character in the movie.
Like some of the more recent Disney films, while the domestic trailers focus more on comedy, the international trailers focus more on the drama or fantasy. If you don't believe me, just compare the domestic and international trailers of Frozen and Big Hero 6. So, does this get you more excited for the movie. Does it turn you off from the film? Is your opinion of this movie different because of this trailer? Comment below.
Moana is directed by Ron Clements & John Musker (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid) and is written by Clements, Musker, Jared Bush (Zootopia), Pamela Ribon (Samantha Who?), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). The film features the voices of Auli'i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Philipa Soo, and Alan Tudyk and songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton). Moana will be released on November 23, 2016.
