NINE DAYS And TOY STORY 4 Star Tony Hale Would Love To Keep Asking Questions As Forky (Exclusive)

Talking to us about his new movie, Nine Days, Tony Hale makes it clear he would love to be given the opportunity to return as Forky after playing the animated icon in Toy Story 4 and Forky Asks a Question!

Toy Story 4 felt like the end of an era for the beloved franchise, but while the series has seemingly lost Woody, it gained a new fan-favourite character in Tony Hale's Forky.

The spork turned toy was, in fact, so well-received that Disney+ launched with an animated series revolving around him, and Forky Asks a Question proved to be a blast. There's been no word on another season as of yet, while the future of the Toy Story franchise is similarly uncertain beyond Pixar's plans for Lightyear, a movie starring Chris Evans that tells the story of the real Buzz.

When we spoke to Tony about his new movie Nine Days (you can read our 5* review by clicking here), we had to wrap things up by asking whether he's hopeful about returning as Forky in the near future.

"[Laughs] I would love that!" the Arrested Development alum exclaimed. "Are you kidding? Talk about questions. That's all Forky asked was questions. He just asked a tonne of questions. I'd love to keep asking questions, whether it be Nine Days or Toy Story...just keep asking 'em [and] keep asking 'em!"

We're keeping everything crossed for more Forky, so let's hope Pixar has something planned!

Nine Days will be released in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, July 30, 2021 and nationwide Friday, August 6, 2021. Check out our full interview with Tony, Arianna Ortiz, and David Rysdahl below:

These are pretty funny. I haven't had a chance to see Toy Story 4 yet, but he seems a great character.

I know it’s a kid movie but after the greatness or 1-3, Toy Story 4 was insultingly bad

The more I think of Toy Story 4, the more I hate it. All they had to do was not make Buzz a complete dumbass and it would have been a solid follow-up.

This guy is killing it playing a dual role in the Mysterious Benedict Society right now. Surprisingly enjoying that show.

@JFerguson - yess, really loving him and the entire cast on that show. The little angry one especially cracks me up. (Also had no idea Sticky played young Kilmonger.) Hale’s monologue on crushing the bird was apex.

@parkerray - Wait whaat? I had no idea that Sticky was played by the same actor as young killmonger. The younger cast is doing really great with the material as well.

As you said, the youngest angry one has great comedic timing and annunciation.
