SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Star Rachel Zegler Says She Was "Terrified" Making Disney's Live-Action SNOW WHITE

Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Rachel Zegler has reflected on making Disney's live-action Snow White movie alongside Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, admitting the experience "terrified" her. Check it out!

It's been a while since we've heard anything about Disney's live-action Snow White, though we do know that shooting on Marc Webb's (The Amazing Spider-Man) movie wrapped last summer.

The filmmaker's take on the classic 1937 animated movie will star Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, two actresses who most recently shared the screen in Shazam! Fury of the Gods as Anthea and Wonder Woman.

Zegler's star is very much on the rise, with her standout performance in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story setting the stage for roles in not only the Shazam! sequel, but The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes as well. Talking to NME (via Toonado.com), however, she admitted that Snow White was far more intimidating than any of those projects.

"I was terrified, terrified, terrified, terrified," Zegler admits, "because you’re playing the first one. The blueprint of all Disney Princesses comes from 1937’s Snow White."

"You have so many conversations leading up to it. You’re gonna chop off all your hair and learn how to dance with all these fake animals and things that are not there," the actress adds. "It was a lot of pressure."

We're confident the actress will knock the role out of the park, but she's not wrong that there's a lot of pressure surrounding one of Disney's most iconic Princesses.

As for whether she has a future in the new DCU beyond Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Zegler is just hoping that co-star Zachary Levi's threequel pitch one day becomes a reality. "I think it’d be cool to do this zombie plot that Zach is obsessed with. It’s Evil Dead meets Superman meets Big, which doesn’t sound like it should work, but I think it might."

Snow White is set to be released in theaters on March 22, 2024.

I'm sure it'll be the exact same story, with a few new songs lol. Pass. On a side note, I saw the early screening of D&D yesterday and really liked it! There are some genuine funny moments, the action scenes are thought out and the cgi is pretty good, the sets are top notch, and Chris Pine is also charming af. Never played D&D, so I didn't catch any of the nods and Easter eggs but I'm sure the real fans will really appreciate it. Also it has a Monty Python kind of vibe to it, I'm glad they didn't take the serious route. 4 stars

So Gal as the evil Queen looks into the mirror and says the line "Who's the fairest of them all" and the mirror speaks back "You are, duh", then end-credits roll.

Disney's biggest miscast since their last miscast.

100% rooting for her since she's 1/2 Colombian like me, and, frankly, we need more representation. Plus she's super cute, sweet, and can sing fantastically. You'll do great!

@DEVWoulf - for sure. I definitely believe the mirror if it said Rachel Zegler is the fairest of them all

@DEVWoulf - Everybody's saying that, always only thinking about themselves and not seeing the bigger picture. Not caring about what's right and wrong yet using that as an argument for what should be done when your in fact only thinking about yourself. It would be nice for once to hear someone say something in the style of: "I'm Indian and I feel Arabic people need better representation in movies"

@ElvenKingSlayer - Well, of course I'm going to root for my home team lol! But in all seriousness we're at a time when Hispanic, Asian, Arabic, and Native American actors are all grossly underrepresented in every form of media. I'm with you that there needs to be more inclusion in that area so everyone gets a chance and it's more fair. But with that said I am happy for Rachel and look forward to what she can bring to the film!
