Director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. @Feralwookiee - I agree but this one needed live action remake IMO.

Obviously I'll see this, but I'm way more curious (and excited) to see what Favreau will do with the Jungle Book sequel. That one is like the GOAT Disney remake.

@GoldGuy - No, I'm just tired of these remakes and reboots and I wasn't aware they were making a part 2 to this GARBAGE! Talk about something original, I very much would have rather seen an origins story on Mufasa rather than the same thing we got before just repackaged for a dumb, easy to manipulate, audience. The only way I'm watching The Lion King and Jungle Book 2 is when they premiere on PornHub.

I actually like how they interpreted how spirit Mufasa looks in the clouds. It surprisingly gave me the feels.

Really looking forward to this and I hope most of the new music sounds as good as the little snippet heard here.

OT: ‘The Suicide Squad’ Will Begin Filming September 23rd & Wrap January 31st in Atlanta

@tmp3 - Not even DC keeps their films that long in post-production. It will move.

@WakandanQueen - Venom 2 still doesn't have a director, I think that'll to move to spring 2021; Suicide Squad 2 takes its October release date

I would be fine with Disney releasing one of these live-action style remakes once every few years, but not three movies in one summer. They're going to run out of classic animated movies to remake real soon.

@santoanderson - What's the third film this Summer?

@Typobutcorrect - Dumbo, Aladdin, Lion King.

@santoanderson - Dumbo wasn't released in the Summer, but I do think Disney should slow down on these live action releases to one, MAYBE two a year.

@Typobutcorrect - There's only 2 this summer but technically 4 this year if you count Maleficent 2 as a remake although it isn't.

@LongMayHeReign - Also the live-action "Lady and the Tramp" film on Disney Plus releases this year I believe?

@blitzkreg - They can’t be greedy unless a whole bunch of people want to see this new version. What’s so wrong about the giving them what they want?
