Marvel Studios has released an IMAX version of the most recent trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and while it doesn't seem to contain any new footage, it does provide another opportunity to watch the mind-bending teaser unfold in 4K quality with an expanded aspect ratio.

Spoilers follow!

The format also allows us to get a clearer look at that powerful Variant (most likely another version of Captain Marvel) doing battle with The Scarlet Witch, and while we don't really get to see any more of the mysterious figure addressing Strange, Patrick Stewart has already confirmed that it's him standing (well, sitting) just out of shot as the returning Charles Xavier.

Check out the IMAX trailer for Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange sequel below.

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

The Doctor Strange sequel releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.

I’m excited to see this and see what “Oh Shit” are in store. Right now, it’s kind of hard to top the Portals scene in Edngame and the three Spider-Man teaming up in No Way Home.

@McMurdo - I'm all for practical effects, but Doctor Strange is a character who never could have been adapted into live-action, before CG-effects got to the place where they are now.
